I need to take pics of the steamrolly, but my evo is borrowing the seatpost/saddle right now.

Your bike would be right at home here in the deep south.

You could ride that thing right into the front door of Cabella's and ol' boys wouldn't bat an eyelash.

What frame is that? Is it drilled for a rear brake?

It's a Trek T1 and yeah. The last owner had only a rear brake on there but the pads were too low and it scraped paint off below the brake track -__-

Thanks. It's a 1976 Schwinn Paramount P14. It was my track racing bike for 30 years.

In the age of flat black nothingness this bike is a standout. All elements are perfectly balanced. Timeless.

Please tell us something about this bike - what type of frame is it and if there is a history behind it.

Thanks for the kind words.

Nothing can be too glossy or polished for me. :o

The frame and fork are a garage sale find. Modern TIG junk. :)

After close comparisons I am 99.9% sure it is a State Bicycle frame and fork. The fork is an unattractive, heavy (but stiff) unicrown. The chainstays were welded on slightly crooked, so the dropouts (cheap stamped) were deliberately misaligned to compensate. Or perhaps vice versa. Still, it was off. It took some filing and tweaking to get the rear wheel to line up straight between the seat stays and to run forward true. It's "straight" now and rolls perfectly with no hands. The bottom bracket cluster is quite flexy. I asked my powdercoater to go heavy at the welds. He did, and it flowed out and made the welds look "good". :p

It does what I want when I'm in the mood for a short wheelbase and steep head/short trail ride. I usually ride overly long and stable pigs, so this thing feels twitchy to me.

Posted this on Dec 31, 2015, so thought I'd post it again for 2016. Bought this 2010(?) Steamroller in early 2015, it didn't seem to have many miles on it (notice the wheel reflectors still on it). Frame is a little small so added riser bars, put on front & rear brakes (riding it single speed), some old Crank Bros 50/50 pedals, and upped the gearing to 53-16 (it works for me). So far so good. :)

Good start for the new year! Loads of interesting builds here!
Sorry, I've been away for a while, just had an insanely busy year.

This is my first build of the year.

Congrats MiloFrance...not many of us mere mortals bikes can look too good being posted after one of nzkiddo's - but yours does :thumb:

BTW...isn't it time for one of the mods to give nzkiddo a pass to just go ahead and post his own bikes directly to the pr0n thread?
