Organized collective or shared mindset? You're back peddling. Rather, you're coasting.

Close minded and hostile?

Sure, sure. If I don't agree with you I'm close minded. Hmmm.. Pot, kettle, krylon... you know.

As far as hostile? You brought up baby killers and then told me to suck it....

Same difference. Perhaps you and I have some sort of shared mindset? Perhaps we are more on the same level then not? You'll never know until you play fixie tag....

In fact, I did not bring up babykillers, [165] the ex-solder did in reference to being called one.

I don't believe I'm back peddling at all. Let's go back and see the words i've used so far: community, general camaraderie, shared mindset. I stand firm to all those word choices.
You can keep ignoring the facts and the points I've refuted, but the truth is, I've never said it was anything organized or visible. And, while you may not have experienced it, I believe there is a shared sense of comraderie among bikers. This forum shows it clearly. Bikers of all different ages and religions and stripes come here and share stories, advice and offer assistance to complete strangers. and why? because we all ride bikes. And while you may not believe that there is interaction between different kinds of bikers, youre just wrong.
I'm not saying that people HAVE to be friends with somoene just because they happen to ride a bike. But for the great majority of riders there is a sense of unity.
And while you don't want any of my sympethetic downplay crap, you have obviously never experienced it. And there is nothing I can do about that.

Wow, you're obviously very wise as well, so ready to resort to violence with a total stranger over something he wrote in a blog.

They never were the sole domain of messengers, we all know that. Thing is, it's usually not just the trackbike, but the whole package. I don't hate them for it, but I do think people should give credit where credit is due, that's all.

As far as the double standard goes, screw anyone who thinks like that. I ride all sorts of bikes and enjoy the hell out of all of them, and couldn't give a rat's ass about what some small minded idiot thinks.

I'm assuming you're referring to kissena? I know more than a few messengers/ex messengers who have done really well out there after Vails and before the Puma thing. You should do more research before you shoot your mouth off.

Not true.

I come here for the fables of pie experiences, bickering, pics of beautiful bikes, and MERTON.
If anyone tries to give me advice, assistance, tries to hold my hand, or touches my knee, I'm going for my gun.

Well you may not. But if you scan through the 117 pages of posts, you're going to run across quite a lot of people seeking advice, sharing stories, and asking for assistance.

dunno who you're responding to, but I was just copy pasting from the dude's blog. But I agree with the sentiment: Mikey is saying that hipsters on fixies are losers because they are stealing messenger culture. But the messenger culture that he is talking about is all about the bike, and the bikes he is talking about are track bikes. So by his own logic messengers are losers because they stole/are stealing track culture. All of which is just bull****, imo. Bikes are bikes.

Damn... My bad. Obviously Mike should do some research, he knows a few of those people I was referring to.

And yeah, I get the thing about messengers stealing track culture. I guess it's true if it's really all only about the machine, but I think it's much more than that.

Yup, bikes are bikes, and we should just ride them and not worry so much about what other people think.

For some reason this thread makes me think of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Where Affleck's character is explaing what the message board Movie Poop Shoot is "...a place where people go to talk about movie stars they claim to despise but yet can't seem to stop discussing..."

This is entertaining all around.

The only problem is that this guy's inflated ego is going to swell even more if he's got web hit tracking and finds so many people are viewing his blog. Oh well... at least he's taking the time to express his views, no matter how self-righteous they are. I'm kinda digging [165]'s outlook on it all.
