where to find crown race?
Got my frame back from the powdercoater and noticed the crown race has a crack in it. Where can I find a new one? Any certain kind I need? It's a FSA threadless 1 1/8" headset. If someone could point me in the right direction.

That's not a crack. Some crown races have that and it's intended to be there to help with installation/ removal.
It is found mostly on cartridge bearing headsets, where even a minor crack of similar size as the cut out in the crownrace would not affect its function.

Did they powder coat the crown race?
Will that impact how it works?

It's just a support for the lower bearing cartridge, so a little paint won't affect its function.

Any shop with a QBP account could get you a new CR if you really wanted one but everything looks good so I wouldn't worry about it. You could also contact FSA if it really bugged you but listen to Leuky and Tejano!

Race wasn't powdercoated... and the "crack" isn't perfect straight like it looks in the picture... I know a lot of cartridge bearing races will have this but this is has caged bearings... not sure if that makes any difference

I might as well get a fresh headset, this one has seen better days... I believe this is the original from 2010
Now any 1 1/8" headset will work right?
From the Felt site
"FSA Threadless 1-1/8" w/2 X 7.5mm Washer Stack"

I thought it was a caged bearing race by looking at the pic. A split (or broken, in your case) crown race is okay to use an a cartridge bearing but not caged.

That's what I thought. Thinking this happened because the fork was put in the oven with the race still attached.

Went and talked to a couple buddies at the Lbs and they didn't have anything so I just ordered a new one. Ended up saving $60 on the powder coat job so I have some extra cash I had already planned to spend
