unknown Bike Co

looking to get a new frame, noticed the unknown company bikes . cool looking frames for a good price, but company seems a little sketchy to me.
and lots of people are ragging on them on their Facebook, granted they are all international orders and delays are to be expected with international shipping.
not looking for recommendation for a new frame, just curious about the unknown bike co and if anyone has done business with them?

Can't say anything about their service as I've never bought anything from them, but their frames are solid

Seems to me like they're selling half a bike for a premium.

one person with enough shop tools can buy materials and make a Bike frame, them selves.

I just recently started looking into them- several pro track and well known alley cat racers ride their frames, so I would say that are a solid company. Anything but sketchy (although I know with a name like Unknown it's hard to know...)!

That's because they're being paid by them.... or had the frames given to them for free.

There are plenty of companies that sponsor athletes by paying them or giving them free stuff to use their brand. Even some of the most reputable cycling companies sponsor athletes. I only mention this for the sake of objectivity because it sounds like you're implying unknown bikes are bad but people use use them who get paid to. I honestly don't know much about unknown bikes and kind of just wrote them off as part of the brightly colored fixie fad. but I'm curious to hear from anyone who owns one or has has experience riding/working on one.

I own one. It's great. The carbon fork is quite stiff and the frameset is light. I'm not sure about the "bright colored fixie fad" as hardboiled718 mentioned, and if they are indeed into that fad they make nice frames as well.

^ I admit the "fad" comment was a snap judgement, but i really don't have any strong opinion on them. That's sort of why I was curious on others' take on em

Definitely good for the price. Their forks are especially good--my friend t-boned a car doing 25 and he only had to have the fork cut down because the very top was cracked. I've got another friend who rode the hell out of their box section wheelset with no issues and they stayed true (he was hopping stairs and curbs on them). Besides their framesets and their box rims/hubs, idunno if I'd buy anything else from them, though

I have a friend who rides a lot (crit racer not coffee shop poseur) who has one of their aero track frames. It's extremely stiff but hey if you're looking for something like that it fits the bill. Build quality is alright, no problems with it really, and he's crashed it hard a couple times.

I'm just scratching my head over what a "roadboob" could be.

Never ask about the lower-cost fixed/track frames here, unless it's Aventon. That's the house brand.
