Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? In-line barrel adjusters. Yeah, those 40 series headsets are very nice for the $.

1/2 inch for the link and 1/8 inch for each tooth. It'll be precise and sanitary when you are done. Post a pic and show your Dad.

My newest pick up - a Swobo Accomplice. I'm really impressed with it for the price. So far I've upgraded the tires and pedals to 43mm Gravel Kings and VP-001 platforms respectively, and might tweak a few more things down the road, but it's hard to quibble with the stock set up for the most part. And it's a blast to bomb over the less than perfect MKE streets without worrying about blowing a tire or trashing a rim.

Well here is the bike I just built for my wife after she expressed an interest in getting into bicycling so we could "do something outdoors together"...

^^^This is the way I originally finished it but she was not happy with the drop bar & wanted some of her favorite color on her bike - thus this version...

But now I'm stumped - was planning to put pink bartape on too but wonder now if that is not a bit much, and maybe I should put the brown tape back on? Or I could use the brown saddle with pink tape? 1st world problems, hmmm?

Some Challege open tubulars would really tie it together, wouldn't they?

I wanted to have to some fun with it, and went back and forth between orange and purple accents . I eventually decided "por que no los dos?"

Looks good! I'd go pink tape and brown or black saddle. I'm not a big fan of colored saddles though and think bar tape is one of the few places you can go totally whacky.

Yes. Want. Thinking about those as the next tire purchase for the NB. That or the Compass knobbies.

You were totally right. I'll post another pic once I'm finished tweaking all the minor details.

Not wild about the bars (if it works for you though) but that is a sharp looking bike. Plain, simple, clean.

New build! Really happy to ride a steel track frame again.
EAI Bareknuckle frameset
Aventon Fairfax crankset
Mavic Open Pros to Formula hubs (with Panaracer Paselas)

Here's an old build, my commuter.

It's only a silver headset away from perfection.

They don't come with headsets brand new silly. Don't you know that? I bought it used, the previous owner built it up with black components.

Well if it was used you have no excuse.

Get that old second hand piece of worn out crap out of your nice bike and do it right, with silver. jk
