I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to install a Paul Brake lever and trying not to go to a bike shop. Anyone know where I can find instructions? There's nothing on Paul's website. Trying to use them with a Dia Compe Calliper. Thanks in advance for the help.

Why wouldn't you go to your local shop? That seems silly. Anywho what is the issue you are having? Generally you slide or clamp the lever on the bar tighten down the bolt holding it to the bar and then insert the proper cable, a Paul lever is no different aside from looking better and being made in 'merica.

Installing Paul levers is the new rocket science.

I agree, what actually is the problem? I have a set of Paul levers on my grinder. Love 'em and yes they are a work of art IMHO. They are also very easy to install, actually one of the easiest installation on a bike, once again IMHO. So what is the problem you are having with them? Is it putting the lever up on the bar and running the cable to the brake or getting the levels to work with the brakes?

ahaha i bet its a long pull lever/short pull caliper combo.

It is a shame that a company which touts its engineering prowess can't stop fawning over themselves long enough to produce even the most basic instructions.

Sure it isn't rocket science but at $140 it would be nice to get more than just a PDF which says, "Standard Short Pull Design" and such drivel.

Why would someone ever need detailed step-by-step instructions to install a Paul brake lever? It's very literally one of the easiest things to figure out.

Having been a co-op volunteer for years, I can attest to the fact that some people don't even know how to use a screw driver.

Not trying to sound like a dick, some people just grew up without doing any hands on kind of work or are just not mechanically inclined. It seems so simple to us but escapes others. But hey, you think if someone was going out buying Paul that they would be able to figure this much out.

I have my butler install my Paul brake levers.

I can attest to this.

One of my neighbors had to have my wife show him how to use a tire gauge.

Another one didn't know how to tell how much air should be put into a tire.

I agree with all that was said about some people being mechanically disinclined. I am grateful i am not one of them. However the OP stated that he/she didn't want to take the bike to a bike shop. My thought here is if you are not mechanically inclined enough to put a set of brake levers on a bike perhaps taking the bike to a shop should be reconsidered .
