You know what I missed. When you ass a subway entrance and it feels cool & inviting. Ah, it's back!

And when you're riding down the street when it's 90 and you pass a CTA bus. It feels like you're inside an oven. <3

The only thing that makes me jealous of D-Town is it's proximity to Windsor. Oh, that million dollar club......

I've lived in Chicago so I am very familiar with the city.
Is there a park where fixie riders meet daily or weekly afetr work or anything? Just to shoot the **** and go for a ride or anything? I know in New York there is a group of messengers and posengers that meet in central park on Saturdays to trade/sell parts to each other and ride a bit...

And then there's the DCC. We organize rides every so often. But now we're track obsessed. At least some of us are.

i hate to say it but i think i'm going geared for awhile. my other bikes are just collecting dust and look so pretty and ready to roll in the nice weather. we'll see though. i'll probably ride and be like what was i thinking?

After riding geared for a few weeks, that's exactly what I'm sayin'. Boring as sh*t, then when I get on the track bike it doesn't recognize me anymore and tries to buck me off.

The road bike is a willing and giving lover, ready to forgive you for your sins.

The track bike is a hellcat with fire in her eyes and a burning passion ready to move on if you're not.

Anyone know a cheaper way to get on the velo than the $40 it costs to rent a bike!?! At the Major Taylor velo in Indy, it's free to check out bikes...what's the deal?

In addition to riding fixed (95% of the time) I also ride a touring bike. The idea of fixed gear touring is stupid to me. When I go on rides that are over 40 miles and I'm wearing lycra/a jersey I'll bust out the touring bike. Like this Saturday I am leaving for a 7 day, 450 mile ride from Detroit to Mackinaw City, Michigan. When I get back my track bike won't recognize me and will probably try to kill me on the first ride.

Folks who claim to go 100 miles on a fixed gear = stupid. Doing it right = priceless
