Stolen Bike In Philly

hi all
sometime between 11:30 pm and 2 am somebody walked into my house, and took off with my ride. 49cm gold alpha "mercury." tubes are super dinged up, only stickers remaining are the alphas on the downtube. everything stock, freewheel unused on the rear hub. red cateye light strapped to the seat post, and sigma computer wired to the front.

i am super bummed, i get everywhere on this bike.

if everyone can keep an eye out, i'd appreciate it.

statement has been filed with the police

cash reward for return of the bike.

any info can be emailed to me at natasha@ecifc.com

thanks guys

This is going to be very weird, but I think I sort of know you through my friend Steve, in the sense that he mentioned your name before and that you ride an Alpha frame. Same kids that took the iPod (if I remember that story right...)? In either case, I'll keep an eye out.

yes! steve is my friend. no, not the same kids who took my ipod, i think whoever took the bike is actually in or near my neighborhood. i live in northern liberties, around third and poplar streets. thanks for keeping your eyes out. i really do appreciate it.

Let me get this straight: You have a rather conspicuous bicycle that could be sourced basically only from a bike shop in philly, and it still has all it's stock components. Your roommate has an identical bicycle. You would like people to detain and harm anybody in philadelphia riding such a bicycle under the suspicion that it's your's. Am I correct?

Does anyone else have this image in his head of a hitchcockian movie where a mob kills this guy's roommate or someone else that could legitimately have in philadelphia a stock bike from a philadelphia bike shop?

I know it sucks, but I really hope you're joking...

well. ok. maybe if you could kindly ask them where they bought the bike. since it only comes from one place in philly. and if they don't know, or don't answer correctly, then accost them and call me. and, for the record, i guess i'm quasi joking. i don't expect anyone to actually detain anyone for me. but hey, if it happens, rad.

Are those Alphas all over the place like ants in philly? I moved away and haven't been there in over a year, and I think they've begun appearing in the meantime. I do miss seeing other people on bicycles...

they are starting to appear more frequently. however, they're easily spotted cause of their frames, and i don't think my size is very common (49cm). i know two people with alphas, one being my roommate, and have only seen a few more around the city. however, i know they are selling well.
