Inner vs outer chain plate chamfer

Hey y’all I’m looking into getting a new chain for my ss. I’ve read that kmc x9 chains work good. I’m going to go with one of they’re chains. I’m looking and I see inner and outer plate chamfer. Which of the two should I choose?

It's a chain don't overthink it.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

The chamfers are to improve shifting performance with derailleur systems. On a non-derailleur, single speed/fixed gear bike they are superfluous. And if your drivetrain uses 1/8" components, the X9 won't fit. Get a 1/8" SRAM PC-1 or KMC Z510 or really any 1/2" x 1/8" chain and save a few bucks as well.

N.B. 1/8" chain will work fine with either 1/8" or 3/32" drivetrain components, or any combination thereof, but 3/32" chain will not seat on any 1/8" cog or chainring.

I am I know it lol but that’s how I have fun and learn. I’m trying to shave some weight. I’ve ordered some solid tires. That I plan to fit on some 70mm deep dish wheels I got for $40. So that’s going to add some weight. It’s a good thing my Electra super delux frame is aluminum. Anyway so I hit google with “lightweight bicycle chains” and read on another forum *i don’t think I can post url’s yet* that 7,8 and 9 speed chains work blah blah. Then went to kmc dot com looked around. Saw inner and outer chamfering? Called kmc today. Didn’t get answer from them either but I did notice after looking further at kmc dot com how the few bmx, track or fixie chains that come chamfered come with inner plate chamfering so yea...
