Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

boston i need help

i am doing a documentary on the bike scene in boston, but as fate, and four rolls of underexposed film, would have it it is not looking to good for the project. Soooo what i want to do is get a bunch of kids together at the cambridge track and just do a bunch of portraits, maybe some racing shots, and at least one group photo.
So anyway I need help, anyone that loves to ride their bike, messengers, racers, hell posers are welcome.

What about a documentary on the bike scene outside of Boston? I think that would be more interesting. I've seen some crazy stuff out in the sticks...people do weird things to bikes out there.

Like have yards with hundreds of bikes on them...on Rt. 28 in Middleboro...the sticks... there is a house with literally hundreds of bikes on the front lawn. It's amazing. Also, once when I was riding down Rt. 44 in Taunton I saw a thin old man carrying an enormouse wooden cart with all his belongings and a bike strapped to it. Then there are the weekend warriors and BMX kids etc. I just think it might be interesting. Anyone else think so? Just a suggestion

How about you do one in Chicago? The scene here is floundering and divided between hipsters, pista riders, those that hate pista riders, old school dudes, actual track racers, bike messengers, etc. UNITE US!

Hey...you're the guy who's been snapping photos at the MIT track races right? How about getting someone to bring som big flashlights...or really politely asking the cops to aim their highbeams at your subject while you take a few photos tonight?

Wouldn't Critical Mass give you a wider perspective of the biking scene? Even though it's just people who do critical mass, it's still a wider range of bikes and bike riders.

I think you should wait until next week to do this. That way I will be home and can be a part of it.
