Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Specialized Sirrus Pro - SS Conversion

This is my first single speed bike and the conversion was a fun winter/COVID project. Used what I could and purchased most parts from MEC that I needed.
Started with a Specialized Sirrus Pro from possibly 2001 - picked up on Facebook Marketplace for $10 (was a completed unusable Frankenstein build).
Gear: 42T/17T - rebuilt the back wheel (after breaking a spoke) to achieve a good chainline with dish.

Before the work - $10 find.

The goods

42T and a free crankset from amazon because the thought they lost the order.
