Where to buy chainrings, cogs
I have searched a bit, but not finding great info. You guys know of good place(s) to buys chainrings and cogs, either online or local (bay area)? I've seen some stuff on eBay, but I have this problem where broke becomes impatient becomes broke and so on and so forth. Besides, I would like to buy local if possible. Thanks.

try harris cyclery at sheldonbrown.com
also Your Local Bike Store, if they don't stock, may be willing to order from QBP (quality bike products, i think is the name), which is this wonderful big catalogue full of happiness that every bike store i've ever been in to has--and is willing to order from for a customer.

Doesn't Onetinsloth or some other forum member work in an LBS in Oakland. Surely they would have what you're looking for, no?

Montano Velo on Piedmont Ave. they got phils and EAI and sugino and all that. i just got an FSA chainring from them, and a new chain, and am waiting for my phil cog which they ordered for me. Plus they are kind enough to order small pathetically cheap parts for me like replacement axle cones and so forth.
it's not as cheap as Harris, but maybe if you factor in postage it's close, and besides, like you said, you wanna buy local. Montano Velo is where I was headin' when I huffed past you at the crest of (un)Pleasant Valley on sunday. nice folks and lots of eye candy for fixoids.

Oh yeah, that was you, weed eater? I was, um, just totally stopping to wait for my girl. Nice to have made your acquaintance. Perhaps we will meet again...and you will not fare so well!
