could you describe what this ride is supposed to be like, as compared to the nyc century? more hilly, etc.? streets closed or what? going to jersey, right? and it's put on by the new york cycle club, who i think are going to be more hard ass about everyone demonstrating what serious and experienced riders they are, correct? i just was looking at the message board from their website, and it seems someone there was pissed about sloppiness of riders on the nyc century. i can acknowledge that i saw "sloppiness" too, but i'm disaffected enough to interpret that as a put-down of anyone who's not got the right kind of dipsh*t cycling sunglasses etc.

Is anyone doing the Escape from New York Century on Sat?

Alex, I owe you a buck for the one that's currently sitting in my tire! Good call, thanks much.

No worries... my interest rates are posted online @ yourescrewed.tv
Think Serbia-level inflation, 1991 or so... :D

Thanks fnb et al. for showing us such a great time. Kissena was great, too. We need to do this sort of thing more often.

Hey guys, a couple pics from the ride. Great group to ride with - left to right - FixedNotBroken, DC_Emily, Chombo, jrowedc, 97Teran, and akky. The other is one pic I got while rolling through Manhattan. Also got a short video from about the same time..... which was actually pretty decent until I hit a manhole cover and nearly dropped the camera. Classic.

sweet! glad the pics came out. that camera takes vid? we gotta see it..

That pic reminds me, props must be given to Kenny, a geared rider who followed our group thru 'til the end. Just as I was leaving the park, he rolled up, exhausted but clearly stoked to have finished. Congratulations were in order!

I was wondering what happened to Kenny, he was having a rough time, but he had the will to finish. Good for him.

These 2 pics were taken with my cellphone, quality is not that great but I like the background.
