Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yikes, my apologies. Nevermind then, what I REALLY meant to post were questions about which messenger bag to buy and how to get the decals offa my Pista.

kinda funny that you were reprimanded by someone who joined the site within the last 48 hours.

The wheelie at the end is sofa king rad.

Supposedly that video is a preview for a much longer video. Now that would be something worth posting.

Yeah, I saw the irony as well, but it wasn't like he was being a jerk about it, so I didn't mention it.. Anyways, no harm done, right?

So many thigns in taht video blow my mind. For example, 180, skidding WHILE lighting a cigarette, and the ngiht shots of the riding is awesome. The whole video is cool('cept for the dude that fell, that just sucks). I saw the guy doing that huge wheelie on Treat St...I almost peed my pants when i saw that.

Wouldn't be surprised if he broke his arm falling like that. I've had my share of over the bars crashes, one pretty sick one during a century, and I've come out of them pretty much AOK, a little road rash from slidding, but no broken bones, knocked out teeth, or face burger. I guess bjj and all the inclass falling drills we do actually paid off, my instructor told me it would, but after rolling out of some crazy crashes unharmed, I'll have to believe her.

Uh...yeah...

So anyone else here that CANNOT do those kinda freestyle/bmx tricks shown in the video?

I just ride by bike. Fast sometimes too. But no bunny hops. I can't do a wheelie.

I would really like to do a roll backwards (360?) during a trackstand. But I dunno about the wheelie. That's freaky.

Yup, me. Can't even do the long skids, but I can go from 20-2 in about 3 car lengths without brakes. I think that's a lot more usefull. Can trackstand forever, but need at least one hand on the bars...

But I am picking up a geared mtb with front suspension (runs for cover) later this week so that I can start trying to ride some trails and learn to hop off/over stuff...

he did. If you watch carefully, you can see him doing a 0-hands trackstand with a cast and sling.
