Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

You have to get into a Obree style aero position and you will have no problems.

Bikes: Bianchi Pista Concept 05, Level 2014

Duke Togo is a Japanese fictional character originally from a long running manga/anime series - a professional assassin for hire. Near as I can tell, a type of James Bond persona. The guy that raced this bike put the name on the top tube of several of his bikes along with the unusual paint.

Columbus max fork - lighter, stiffer and more aero is the claim. I don’t know but they are popular with Keirin racers and I like the way they look and ride. I have them on 3 of my bikes.

If anyone knows please fill me in.

You know if you copy Zach’s frame handlebars and hubs people are gonna call you a poser right?

the seatpost is Nitto sp72 by the way - good luck with your build.

It had occurred to me. I’m not consciously copying anyone, but there’s probably nothing new under the sun when it comes to building bicycles from off-the-shelf parts.

All the same, what handlebars and hubs does Zach Gallardo use? When I Google, I see a load of bicycles (some not Wabis) and variations in the builds of each one. He doesn’t seem to be heavily into the technical side of things, so maybe his components are not choices I would make anyway. Form follows function for me … distantly.

Thanks.

I think you made the right call to put that cranked seatpost and Nitto stem on the Level instead. Better fit. Though I always found that seatpost clumsy looking and clumsy in operation (putting a needless limit on minimum saddle height).

Indeed.

I don't interact much online anymore. Deleted my Fakebook and never answer my LinkedIn. Ride Bike is one thing I do still for my life. My other bike is a Specialized Sequoia 62x52x42 chain and 38 down to 12 rear.

second fixed gear, first track frame

Just finished this build! I've been sitting on all the pieces for it for a couple weeks now, waiting for an old drop bar from my dad's touring bike. I ended up giving up and grabbing this bar from a children's bike trailer that was in our basement . Turns out some old bar tape i saved is the same color as the grips! I figure he won't have replaced the bar before the new year so I'll repost in the 2025 thread, hopefully with a drop bar and the fork cut to size. (don't look at the rear wheel too long, its my first wheelbuild so forgive me )

[QUOTE=chesement;2341516 (Just finished this build!)[/QUOTE]

Nice - My first fixed gear was a KHS. I had the ‘Aero Track’ with the s shaped seat tube - fun bike.
Enjoy!
