Coasting
i tried a SturmeyA 2speed and it got old fast so i reFIXED my ride. now i got the coaster bug again and I'm thinking of trying a SS coaster setup on my Steamroller. Options are to buy a decent hub and build a wheel OR opt for a MONe wheel build. MONe will cost $$$. anyone coasting around on cast away fixies or souped up of cruisers

I have a Takara Kubuto and a Pure Fix Premium, both running single-speed. They have flip-flop wheels, but I see a lot of value in being able to coast. I don't have much interest in riding them as a fixed gear.
My wife has an ancient Diamant from Norway, with an Atom coaster brake single-speed rear wheel.

I had a FELT cruiser with a Sturmey Archer 2spd/coaster brake.
The gear switched every time I tapped the pedals (braking). Not for me....sold it.

i like having the tail-wind / headwind gearing option. But I frequently get the tailwind gear from a stop, so I understand not wanting to deal with the mystery of what you’ll kickoff with.
the one that’s not carbon…
and has a big bag.

Edit: (Do make sure the FW you buy is not for wider chain than you are using. If you are currently running 3/32" chain, an 1/8" FW will NOT work. If your chain is 1/8", an 1/8" FW is preferred but not necessary.)
