Friday Night Fixed...Oakland

For those of you who can't stand sitting in the traffic that is the SF Critical Mass tonight. The awesome folks at Montano Velo are holding their weekly Friday Night Fixed ride. Meet up around 7ish, leave around 7:30ish. The ride usually snakes down towards Emeryville and heads out along the Bay on the bike path til it ends somewhere in Point Richmond (or something like that). For city folks - BART trains that allow bikes start leaving at 6:36 from EMB. Get off at MacArthur.

Meet here:
Montano Velo
4266 Piedmont Ave
510.601.1824

Come say hi.

I'm pretty slow, if I went out would they drop me? Is this a fixed-only ride, or can I ride my comfort bike?

Yes, if you're as slow as Judah, Critical Mass SF is your dream "ride"

In all seriousness, there's no dropping of anybody. TIP was *****ing about the pace last time but she just likes to complain. She kept up just fine.

And yes you can ride your "comfort" bike. And bring your inflatable arm bands if you must.

Ahh, ok, at least I'm faster than TIP...

As for the comfort-bike, I broke two chainring bolts on it two days ago, so it's down for the count until I can find some replacement sugino bolts. Stupid NJS crap, can't take a beating.

I'll have to see what the rest of the gang is up to, I've heard that the clowns are causing trouble on the west-side, we might have to go regulate...

That sucks. Montano has suprisingly good supply of NJS stuff in stock. They just might have what you need.

If you do decide to roll, shoot me a PM and we can all meet up at EMB.

Anybody else going? I just dropped by the shop to make sure I knew where it was, and I'm thinking I might finally get out there for it. I did notice some raindrops, which surprised me and my toes are now pretty cold, so if I don't go it's probably because I'm a sissy. Also, a question - Do you guys usually bring lights? and if so, is it bad that I won't have one?

well, I didn't make it. Anyone else? I'm moving tomorrow, so I've been at the house packing up everything. I'll probably be there pretty consistently starting next fri. It's great actually being able to move along at a decent clip w/o having to hang out with the spandex crowd. Last week there were some beautiful bikes being ridden also. Nagasawa, Gan Well, Landshark, etc etc. Great eye candy.

Bikes: more bikes than toes and fingers

I didn't make it either - to swamped with final projects and stuff for school. Shooting for next week for sure.
