ok jayfitz. i'll race. but my bike is in seriously bad shape from a recent spill. i can only get into a few gears. but then, that's a few more gears than i usually race in :)
|
i don't know what the heck is going on this weekend now.
i'll talk to you guys later. |
i'm thinking about heading out to nyack saturday around 9 am or so. how bad is the bridge situation? i've read on here that i should bring walking shoes. is this what everybody who uses clipless pedals has been doing? are all the hardcore roadies stuffing chuck taylors in their jersey pockets?

i don't know about tomorrow for me, guys. i had to leave work early because of this bug that i have. what a headache! marcelinyc, you know that the jersey state championships are going on at the track tomorrow, right? |
just got mail from campo. he wants to go up 9w sunday. bear mountain,
nyack anyone? |
i still feel a little crummy, but i'll be at kudo beans (1st ave and 3rd street) at 9:30, if anyone wants to go. mr. nine?
|
gnawa and i were talking about nyack tomorrow. not sure what time he had in mind.
|
i'd like to go again tomorrow. the wind was nasty today.
let's meet at kudo beans at 9am. |
9am sounds good to me.
|
i think im going to back out of tomorrow's ride. sorry for being flakey.
|
soloed today, gnawa left earlier than me (marcelinyc and john campo obviously partied hard last night!) and actually called from nyack as i pulled up to kudos. i'm so impressed, G!
the wind gods are definitely ticked at me for some reason. on the way north (i started from hoboken terminal), i had the toughest headwind. no illusions, i was checking out the leaves and the grass blowing. then i got hung up in nyack and piermont chatting for a spell and the wind did an about face! even stronger out of he south. i am beat! i love this feeling. |

I also got some strong headwind on the way back so it seems the wind was changing all the time. All in all it was a nice ride, just too bad I had to leave earlier Msngr. Unrelated: Anyone up for laps (and races) Tuesday night 8:00pm at Central Park? |
8pm CP races? What do we do after we finish work until 8pm?

Bar of the week? I say we go to happy hour dressed ready to race.
|
pixiefag, check your pm's.
|
I went up to nyack solo on saturday and i guess i got lucky with the wind, but on the way back i got a little lost trying to mix up the route a little bit. does somebody have a link to a good bike map, or something similar to the nyack area? also that bridge does suck, and i even brought running shoes in my backpack. i don't think they were totally necessary though. i should switch to mtn pedals at some point anyways.

cool, thanks

anyone want to do some recon on the delaware river with me this weekend?
i rode along the delaware a couple of decades ago, and it was really nice. the idea would be to take a train to trenton, get to the river, ride as far north as we dare along the river, and then turn around (or figure out another train to take back from up north). those little towns around lambertville are full of runcible spoons. you don't need a pass to take a bike on NJ transit trains. anyhoo, just a thought. |
