Msngr 11-02-05 09:54 PM

kudos doesn't open till 7

wangster 11-02-05 09:59 PM

why must you guys make it so early. I really want to go, but I'm gonna be realistic and admit that I'll never get up early enough. Let me know if you guys decide to go later.

popdelusions 11-02-05 10:08 PM

Damn...no coffeshop opens early enough. There were a few mornings Tyler and Robb and I found ourselves waiting out in front of Gorilla, which probably just means we didn't do as many laps as we should have....anyway, should we revise to 7:00 am instead, or meet somewhere else? Anyone know of anyplace that IS open at 6:00?

EnLaCalle 11-02-05 10:15 PM

don't you guys ever sleep? sheesh. it's still going to be dark out at that time..

Msngr 11-02-05 10:24 PM

you can sleep when you're dead.

EnLaCalle 11-02-05 10:27 PM

speaking of dead, I'm kind of upset that no one commented on my cool jesus' raising of lazarus animation in honor of this thread's resurrection.

******bags.

noumena9 11-03-05 04:52 AM

sigh. I'm out. Family coming to visit this weeked. Next week.

oh.

Is that what that was there for?

Huh.

very nice, I guess. :)

PS: 6am is nasty-early. 7am is better?

Msngr 11-03-05 07:53 AM

ok, i'm going to take charge again and call kudos at 7am, leave kudos by 7:10 (to give me a chance to get a cup). we take the PATH to beautiful nj and ride up on top of the palisades. don't forget your cameras, kids, this is a beautiful ride.

popdelusions 11-03-05 09:46 AM

7:00 sounds fine to me.

wangster 11-03-05 09:54 AM

my question is... how hilly is this? If this involves that insane hill right before the GW then I'd rather sleep off my hangover. 7 is still ridiculous, I don't even get up that early for work, but I'm considering 7 a lot more than 6.

EnLaCalle 11-03-05 10:04 AM

Wang -

the girl and I were planning on doing a long ride anyway on saturday (if i stop feeling illin'). maybe those of us who are more prone to binge drinking and sleeping late on the weekends can run an alternative ride that starts at a more reasonable hour. Also, I'm all for a more relaxed pace as I haven't done a distance ride for several months now. If anyone is interested in that lemme know.

I'm thinking more along the lines of, say, 10:30am start. I also want to hit up the WFMU record fair on Saturday afternoon, so I don't want to start too late. Maybe 9-ish would be better. Those less inclined to wake up so early, please give your input.

wangster 11-03-05 10:08 AM

I'd be down for that. 9 is fine with me, maybe even 830 depending on how much I drank the night before. What did you have in mind? Nyack? btw, how'd you do in the race? didn't see ya afterwards, assumed that you came and left already.

EnLaCalle 11-03-05 10:19 AM

Hah. Funny that you mention that. It's sort of embarassing really. I rolled up to the small pox infirmary on Roosevelt Island (in pretty decent time mind you), shoved my hand in my jacket pocket, and found nothing there. Meaning that I lost my manifest before I even got the first checkpoint signed. I'm a rookie, and I fired myself accordingly. There's always Cranksgiving...

Yeah, I was thinking Nyack, but I'd be up for something different too. I think Nyack might be nice because there should still be a few strangely colored leaves hanging on.

yes u are a rookie.

wang don't drink simple.

s/f,
ce..ya!

Ceya 11-03-05 10:41 AM

Nah , im on solo rides! this reply is for the one below.. freakin double posts

ceya

wangster 11-03-05 11:02 AM

I haven't been drinking lately, probably why I actually managed to finish the halloween race. I'm meeting friends afterwork on friday, and that usually ends up being an all night thing.

Plus I'm just not a morning person. It's not how early I go to sleep, its how early I wake up. I can go to sleep at 6am and still wake up at 9am but I can't get up at 6am even if I went to bed at 9pm.

Ceya, you riding with the over achiever group or the slacker group?

nine 11-03-05 01:34 PM

I could be down for a relaxed 9 am ride

marcelinyc 11-03-05 03:30 PM

9 at kudos?

s_9 11-03-05 03:32 PM

7 at Kudos for the early team? I gotta be back early.

popdelusions 11-03-05 03:46 PM

Unless everyone else has their hearts set on sleeping in I still say we stick with 7:00; if we don't leave until 9:00 it starts to eat into the afternoon.

wangster 11-04-05 03:19 PM

So whos coming to the 9 lazyasses ride? where are we meeting?

Assuming I wake up in time I'll be there for the lazyasses ride. Where exactly that is, I don't know.

EnLaCalle 11-04-05 04:26 PM

It's wherever we say it is :). Generally, when breaking away from Msngr and co., I like to do alterna-Nyack routes, but seeing as how the leaves are changed, I think the route to Nyack would be nice for tomorrow. I say the lazyass group follows suit and takes the Path over to NJ. Can one of you stronger, superior, early-group fellas tell us where to get off/on etc. The PATH train is something I generally try avoid. As for meeting up, Kudos is good for me (and the rest of the Brooklyn crew I think) and then we can grab a cup and hop on the train?? HoLLLLLLLer back.

EnLaCalle 11-04-05 10:56 PM

ok. b/c no one hollered back, i'm gonna sleep a little later than I planned. I need it. I don't care about a later ride cutting into my afternoon, as it is how I want to spend my afternoon. I'll probably end up going middayish. B-gimme a call if you're interested. Anyone else can PM or post.
