dear classic nitto drops

what was i thinking when i so easily forsake you for those awful bullhorns?? you are so beautiful and comfortable and who cares if i don't have a brake to put on you, that just means you look even sexier. i don't care about all those scratches or that sticky stuff from the last cork tape i hid you with. we shall never be apart again.
love,
griffin

ps i'm sorry that you read this

Dear chromed nitto bullhorns,
What was i thinking when i so easily forsake you for those awful NJS drops?? You are so comfortable and allow me the leverage to communicate with my bike via the proper "body english." Who cares if i don't have proper NJS parts for I will be racing you in exactly zero velodromes. i don't care about covering you with all these scratches or that sticky stuff from the new cork tape i will cover you with, for I demand comfort! we shall never be apart again.
love,
andrew

ps i'll ebay the drops when the conversion is complete

dear nitto drops,

dont get a self esteem problem just because the only reason you are in demand is because people cannot afford cinelli or people cannot find cinelli. it's okay, you are popular because of your abundance and your the suitable candidate for all those that are too lazy or too broke to go for the cream of the crop. this isn't to say that you are less worthy; mechanically you are without flaw and your sweeping bend is gorgeous but let's face the facts here, dear nittos, you are not stamped with that badge and your home is far from milano. coppi has never heard of you, neither has merckx or anyone from the golden days. it's okay, this njs craze means big business for you, and the fact that you are readily available makes you just about the only choice. you beat deda's (that says something, doesn't it? it should say something, it has to, it must!). i own two pairs of you, i'm not above reproach. you are the everyday, you are the good-enough, you are the settled-for --- and the underdog always wins on account of a heartrending combination of just enough pity mixed with just enough caring sympathy. it's okay, you feel alright.

dear nitto b-123aa's, how i miss you since you were snatched from my ride, i loved how you felt; better than your steel cousins, a little less harsh, and oh the ease with which i steered, the steel 125's that are currently in your place feel leaden and harsh, and the curves... just don't do it for me.

but soon i will have you back, and in the oh-so-svelte 35cm size, for i have narrow shoulders, and my love for the narrowness knows no bounds.

(cinelli, you shall have your place too, but upon the masi where you belong. my peleton will stand in its full japanese glory, and all anyone shall see of it is the terrible sight of it coming up behind them, sucking their strength like a lamprey and, once sated, blasting past on the inside like a mink with a hot date).

Dear Nitto 019's i chopped you up and put you on my conversion, i could careless that your name was Nitto or that you are shiny, for you are covered in bar tape. Now you are slave to daily my abuses. I will rock you back and forth until the day comes when you just snap in half. And after i pick my self up, i will toss you and buy your brother only to subject him to the same abuses.

Bikes: serotta [track], Bomber Pro [track]

I remember when I first picked you up. You were so lovely in the pale light and so light and graceful. I felt bad that at that moment I wanted to hold you more than my girlfriend—the naughty, lacivious thoughts that raced through my head after taking you with me. You felt SO DAMN GOOD when i put you on the bike and gripped your luscious curves. Oh if the girlfriend had caught me in my throes of passion as I turned you this way and that. Oh Nitto 123AA, I feel that I am falling in love with you. In fact, I'm going to secretly look at you right now and then hold you in my hands after working (bike porning) before meeting with the significant other.

Don't tell my lovely and light affair...

dear flipped and chopped,

i will always remember the night you first put on the nitto stem. the image brought out my inner caveman and we rode until dawn. it's so sexy on you. i want you to keep it. you deserve the best. ... we've been honest with each other from the start - about our expectations and future plans, and i've always valued that. i believe you were exactly what i needed in my life when we met. you gave unconditionally. do know that it touched my heart. i will think of you when the sun sits low and i ride with alongside my shadow.

love always,
the tonga kid

Dear Nitto 36cm B123s
You wedge me into traffic and give dodging new light. On the track, you keep me tight and slick. However - you hurt my shoulders. Neck pain, shoulder pain. But when I think about it more, I know that we weren't meant to be. I am demanding and you are stubborn. My legs tangle in your narrow steely curves when I skid.

At the start, we had such love for one another. Yet, I must say goodbye. I will give you the track. But the streets are for 38s.

Don't be angry, just know that I care much about you and do not want to further sour our relationship. I hope you understand and that we can still be friends.

keep in touch

Dear cinneli criteria 36 cm

Rest in pieces,
I cried for hours after i looked at how deep your drops were bent in after that honda threw me over its hood, you were so mangled and distorted that i could barely recognize your beautiful curves, I could barely stand to look at your bare alluminum beauty without wanting to jump off a small small bridge. But i amputated your drops and now you live on as set of weird hald boomerang half touring bars.

I love my nitto drops...if anyone is trying to part with any track drops under 38 cm than hit me up, my small child like shoulders need somthing narrow.
