Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

It's all about your budget. The Bianchi Pista and the Fuji track bike are nice and cheap. The IRO is probably the cheapest frame you can buy. I test rode the Langster - it was HARSH. It also pinged every time I hit a bump. I ended up building a Steamroller and I am very pleased with it. It handles sweetly and has plenty of room for fatter tires even with a front brake since it uses a long reach caliper brake. I'd go steel even in a wet climate, it just feels better. If you build your own, be sure and coat the inside of the frame with linseed oil or framesaver to prevent rust.

Glad to see Iro is back. That picture of the Angus, anyone know what size it is? It looks a bit tall.

I wish they were still making the Mark V Pro... The Angus may have to take it's place for me. I want one.

I also test rode the langster... i didn't dislike it, but it didnt seem worth the price. From what i've read here, it seems like i could be a lot happier with a different bike anyway.
