Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I bought my Sugino cog for 90!!! I'm kidding, I don't have that kind of money.

FarHorizon, calm down... good for you that you found a cheaper place to get a cog, but DA cogs usually cost 20+ and I have no problem pay that considering it's be close to that after shipping from ben's bike anyways. So I choose to give my LBS the extra 2 bucks or so and save myself the wait.

All we're trying to tell you is that cogs are an important part of your bike and it's not something worth skimping on. If you can find a quality cog like DA or EAI or Phils for cheaper then by all means, but just know that its not as cheap as you might think to produce a quality cog and it is a quality component that you can actually feel.

Understood and agreed with.

If my LBS carried DA cogs (or equivalent) in stock, I'd buy them there. Since the LBS doesn't stock such, I'm giving my business to the best value-for-the-$$ store I can find on the internet.

I'm also calm about it. Others seem to think that spending more $$ for the same item is OK. I don't agree with them, but in the end - they can spend their money as they see fit and I'll do the same.

Peace.

From the site: "This manufacturer currently prefers that we not sell this item via the internet. Please call for more information."
