FG/SS on last.fm

So I signed up for last.fm, which is sort of friendster for music nerds. In a fit of potentially misguided "community building" I created a FG/SS group. Y'all should sign up so we can keep tabs on everybody's embarassing taste in music.

Link is here.

Hook it up.

joined the group. i've been on last.fm for awhile now. there is also pandora.com which creates a similar station based on your musical preferences but instead of deciding the next track on users' similiarities, it's based upon a range of characteristics in each song. Harmonics, vocal range, bass, etc...

I was wondering if there is a way to view the entire groups music at the same time?

yup!

but i think you may need to wait a few days to a week before the charts populate with all the group's music. if i remember correctly, group charts are populated once a week on sunday.

I don't understand last.fm

Is it for streaming music or downloading?

I have downloaded iScrobbler, but I dont understand what it does. It appears others have used it to get music from my computer. Does music I listen to on my iTunes get added to my chart, or only if I listen to it on last.fm?

you have to play a few hundred songs before it generates your charts...

why are the group charts only listing 2 3 or 4 plays per? does it average plays or something?

I think the 2 or 3 plays per artist means that 2 or 3 individual users have listened to that artist during the week. I'm not sure if it factors in how often one person listens to something. I could be wrong.

I added an avatar for the group page, though. That's progress, right there.

Hilary Duff played here last week and my press pass fell through at the last minute. I was heartbroken. I made my friend, Melissa, call me from the concert on her cell when they played "So Yesterday." I am 29 years old.
