Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? It certainly didn't take long for this bike to get flipped.

EDIT: sorry, didn't see it posted on the previous page...

GT Pulse!

I've been looking for one of these for a while...so I, um, call dibs or something.

[Edit: Seller e-mailed me back - top tube's right on the money.]

Does anyone know what the geometry of these bikes is like?
The pulse is the same as the GTB. I had one and rode it for about a year and a half until I realized I HATED riding it around. Alum frame + stiffest design ever = a uber responsive handle on the road but also the most uncomfortable ride ever after about 20 mins

eh,

so I sold it and built up my fixie crosscheck, which is the exact opposite. But it's the most fun, beefy tank of a fixie I could think of. Here's to fixies that can run 700x45s!

but yeah, the GT was cheep, fun, responsive, and made me happy until I realized that I prefer the epic rides, not just the quick hops.

FYI : The GTB and Pulse or not the same. The Pulse benefits from a superior aluminum - Easton 7005.

Indeed. That's why I'm super-stoked (what a great adjective) about this one. Just hoping people don't drive it up to an insane price in the next 6 days.

I've pretty much given up on ebay because I can never win anything. I refuse to sit there for ten minute trying to outsnipe someone else, too much effort required on my part.

Did you ask what the reserve was? He had it on CL a while back. Great bike,
but it's not going to go cheap!

Anyone who hasn't heard of sniping software needs to... well... I don't know. Google or something.

Don't sweat it. If you know what you are willing to pay for an item, bid it and then forget it. If you win, fine, if you don't, fine. I lose more than I win, but patience usually pays off.

A different frame entirely.

Your concern is appreciated all the same.

BTW----Having said that, I just scored a Campagnolo Pista crankset for $41 (ebay) and a nearly new Nitto 123 for next to nothing (raygunner). So. I'm thinking about building it up. The problem was, the Raleigh was listed as a 56cm, when in fact it's a 55cm ctc. I normally ride 58cm. For me, it's pretty small.

Anyway, I'm sure your use of "WTF" was intended in good spirit. I mean, WTF business is it to you what I do anyway - right?

Not that bad. On CL he wouldn't go under $1000 if I recall correctly.
I'm not saying he was trying to rip anyone off, it sounded like that bike was his baby.
