Yo back up off that! (Assuming you're talking about the Pulse.) I called dibs, biatch.
Unfortunately, the auction won't be over for nearly 6 days...I'm sure dudes (or apparently one girl, if you trust the bidding history) are going to drive the price up out of my range. Booooo.

Because it would've been found anyway. Obviously everyone here looks at eBay, and I'm sure someone else would've posted it very quickly if I hadn't. On the other hand, people around here do tend to respect The Dibs, amazingly enough (which is one reason why the SS/FG forum is awesome...most of the time), so that's why I called "dibs" on it when I posted it.
But hey, you want to go to war? I take you to war. I bury you cock-a-roaches.
(That's a joke, in case you didn't notice the tongue-in-cheekness of it all, because I'm sure someone is going to get riled up without a disclaimer. Touchy touchy.)

i know we're not supposed to "discuss" items- just post and drool- but i'm absolutely heartbroken over the san rensho i bought, and had to share. i didn't want to start a new thread, since i have a feeling one of the philly kids knows the woman who sold this to me...
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1
it was advertized as "nothing that would impair the strength of the bike," "no rust," "great condition."
i unpacked and built it last night and was just heartbroken to see that both wheels don't sit straight. the frame has obviously been crashed, the fork and dropouts both bent. the fork's so bad that the tire rubs, and by the dirt built up, it's clear that this didn't just happen in shipping. Plus, it's clear that the previous owner didn't take care locking it up, since there are tons of little dents and dings on the bike that suggest a krypto chain and throwing the downtube over a rack carelessly. And it's clear from the photos on ebay that she avoided showing the rust spots/missing decals/bad chips on steatstays/bent fork. (You can tell the fork thing if you look real carefully, but the photo's taken such that it's hard to tell.) I have photos that look very different.
i don't know what to do. i emailed her, and said that i don't know what to do, but if y'all have suggestions, i'm open. i really want this bike, but i want it as advertized, not all f'ed up. it's sort of barely (and not real safely) rideable with the little fork/dropout problem. if it was anything else, i'd send it back and demand a refund. but i want one so badly... help? anyone?

chimbly - If she doesn't respond to you, denies things, etc., start up a claim (or whatever you want to call it) process with eBay:
https://pages.ebay.com/help/tp/inr-snad-process.html
It might take a while, but I feel like eBay would probably be on your side for this thing. Be sure to save all those photos from her posting so you can have them to present alongside your own. Not sure what else to suggest. IMO, better to have your money back than an f-ed up bike, even if it was one you really wanted.

those are some expensive parts for a conversion. wonder why the seller doesn't move those parts over to a track frame.

If you don't know of a framebuilder in the area there's a guy in Baltimore named Bruni who did a repair job for me a few years ago. Really nice guy and fair pricing as well.

The fork sounds like a different story and would probably need to be replaced alltogether. Was it packed/shipped poorly? If you still have the box take some photos of it to show that the damage did not occur in shipping and that the seller misrepresented the item in the auction. "overall great shape!!" is what it was described as, and it's certainly not what you've got.

there is the option of having her pay for the frame repairs.. the touch ups to the paint chips she hid and the trueing/repairing of the frame.
which might get you some of your 800 dollars back you know?

Oh, and I think I stripped the hub on the way to work just now. Or it may have been the lockring. Either way, I had to fred flinstone stop to not get dead.
this bike is a nightmare.

has she replied to your email? the first course of action would be to tell her that the item was not described as you recieved it and you would like to be refunded. i would NOT have ridden it. that could ruin your argument and give her all the leverage.
