Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I have cracked a couple of the Shimano 105 plastic clips, but the steel DA ones I have now have held up well. Those pedals and clips have completely destroyed about three pairs of shoes, though.

i snapped a MKS steel a few weeks ago. i taped it together with weird rubbery duct tape that i bought at a dollar store. it's hella annoying.

Do you have washers on under the allen heads? I usually try to make sure I put those on to help support the clip.

+1 Christophes if you can find them. I've seen some that were covered in rust and were still plenty strong.

totally. they are way strong. seen some with leather covers stitched on so they don't chew up shoes. mine have been going good for the 5 years i've had them, and they are from the 70s... so thats what, 35 years strong? trustable. (i know, flawed logic, but still)

trustable, not a word. or, an invented word, but it does get the point across. "to be trusted" would be a better choice of words. point for you! thanks!

diction, though, relates to word choice and enunciation, not to the use of made up words. if we are claiming that this word is not really a word, which, in fact is true (as conceded above) then diction wouldn't apply as diction only relates to the use of actual words. aha, point for me.

we both win.

Don't worry!

Once I rule the world I'll have public hangings for words that are not in the dictionaries too.

If we kill the offending word no one will be able to use it anymore,so we all will be able to write properly.

All will be well and all it takes is a little violence.
