Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I roll the right side only, and in the wintertime, I rock "dazzle drawers"--tiedied long undies which were once available from I goldberg in Philly.

am I the only one who rocks them both ways. the warmer it is the more likely it is I'll do both legs. When it cools off I roll like LL and when it gets cold for real I just start tucking the right one inside my socks.

I do both - my left pant leg has a tendency to interfere with me getting my foot in my toeclip.

When I roll, I keep the glue strip on the outside edge. I use both thumbs and index fingers to obtain the dovetail.
This is what you were asking about, right?

drive side only; just enough to keep 'em from getting chewed. back when I was an office goon, I'd forget and spend half the day with my slacks like that.

drive side only. i usually ride with the same pair jeans. i know when to stop rolling up when i reach the part of the inside of the pant leg that's covered in grease stains.

**** all those methods... its all about the tightest jeans possible - they don't have anything loose to get caught in there. +1 for white jeans

as far as rolling in its true sense, i tend to look to Ice-T

Hepburn, but with maybe one more roll on the right leg depending on the weather and the size of the chainring.

I roll and fold like I was in 7th grade in 1992 again, both sides. The difference is that this time I'm not wearing high-top basketball sneakers.

For the record.......It's not about the "occasional greasy pant leg". It's about getting your shiat stuck in the drivetrain, which can cause injury when using a fixed drivetrain.
I am 90% Hepburn, and 10% LL Cool J. But I am 100% Cool J when it comes to deoderant chunks and lip-licking.

i don't roll at all. I just let my pants be. It's more Zen that way.

Bikes: so many

I wear manpris and cutoffs, but for the quick trip to the store or whatever I roll the right only. If for some reason I wear pants and will be riding for a while, I roll both so my left pant leg doesn't flap on the frame/tire and get dirty. So, all of the above really.

Right leg only. I usually leave it up because I don't like the constant up and down game. I also like the asymmetrical visual dissonance that screams, "Look out world! I am here and I ride a BIKE. HARD."

For real though, I believe my inability to put forth enough effort to roll it down consistently is leading to my left leg being normal and my right leg slowly transforming into that of Benjamin Grimm from the cuff down.

i don't do anything.
i just wear really baggy pants and ride as hard as i can powering and struggling through my ride as my pant cuffs get caught up in the chainring and rip apart.
by the end of the night theyve turned into jean shorts.
i then return home and repeat the process.

i mean, thats the cool thing to do right?
