sorry, computer nerd

code for 10% off your entire order until 1/2/06: W210
i got the formula/mavic wheelset- no lockring included, fixed/free, 100% trued out of the box. still happy with it, but they owe me a lockring! took about a week from Ohio to California. as for rear axle spacing (i asked about it earlier), it comes with a long axle like iro's hubs do. plenty of room to respace to 126 or maybe 130mm. |

axle spacers :D - which are essentially fat washers.
between the locknuts. There's also a code for 99 cent shipping. Ship99 you'll sill have to pay the oversize charge. no idea if you can use it in conjunction with the 10% off. |

ah crudders,
I wanted to go order the discount nashbar wheelset w/ 99 cent shipping but its gone :'( Nowhere to be found on their site... sigh. |
I just got mine. Perfect for my winter bike. My usual ride has a set of MA3's and these seem even sturdier. I was all set to put it together when I realized my tires, tubes, etc. must be in another box. I hope the lock ring is in there, too.
|
i installed my wheels yesterday and they are super smooth to ride. I had some concerns about the spacing since my frame measured at 126mm. to my suprise there was more than enough room. In fact the axle sticks out on both sides. I will try to take some pics tomorrow.

Just wanted everyone to know that the wheelset is gone, for now.
|
Did anyone get a lockring with their order?
|
formula hubs don't come with lockrings
|
I just called Nashbar and they're saying "it says here that this set doesn't come with a lockring." Then they ask what catalog you ordered it from. Of course, I ordered it from the website, but luckily it's still there in the google cache in case you need to prove that the site said "lockring included".

SH-TCL SHIMANO TRACK COG LOCK RING 1 D With "D" designating "Discontinued/Out Of Stock." Since this wheelset ISN'T fixed/fixed, apparently, my urgency for an additional lockring is decreased. However, they still better send it to me. And you. So, Mueslix, how'd it resolve? Are they sending you one? |
I didn't get mine through Nashbar, but it didn't have a lockring.
I've had to retension that front wheel like 3 times now, getting pretty bored with it. |

Here we go! The cached page proving that this wheelset was advertised as fixed/fixed (unless Nashbar advocates running a cog without a lockring), and that it should come with a lockring! Reign down upon their customer service department!
edit: Okay, a closer reading reveals that it does indeed say "flip flop" in the copy. But that's confusing, to say the least. |
I ordered a few hubs only about six months ago and each hub came with two lockrings. I'm swimming in lockrings. I've got so many I don't know what to do with them. I'll leave a few on the from porch, y'all can come by and pick them up.

Nashbar.com currently says that part SH-TCL (Shimano Dura-Ace lockring [NJS certified!]) is in stock. So if you're owed one, call them right away.
|
If you missed out on Nashbar and want some inexpensive wheels Ben's in Milwaukee is featuring a wheelset for $134.99

At least my wheels are on their way ... I keep looking at the frame in the basement and the cog ... waiting to put together.
|
It thickens! I just got my box of everything but the wheels. The invoice says:
"Shimano Track Cog Lock Ring - Status: X" Oo, status X! What's status X? It is defined on the left-hand side as "Not Available - we don't expect replacement for one month. Please reorder then." |
I called them up, and they send they'd send me a lockring as soon as possible. Hopefully it'll be overnighted or second day. My invoice also has status X for lockrings, but if they say it's going to be included they should send one.
The wheelset is definitely fixed/free. |
My order says status "D" (online) ... hmm, we'll see when the wheels get here.
|
i emailed customer service, and noted the fact that their prior listing said "lockring included," and here is their response:
"We have taken your address information and will be sending a lock ring to you. The lock ring, however, is not an item we currently stock, so we are need to special order this from one of our vendors. I will see that this part is ordered on Monday, December 12 and we will ship it to you as soon as it arrives." i'm cool with that. |
