Bikes: I built the Bianchi track bike back up today.
Here's a random thought:
How much of the Keirin influnce is just simply shorter people looking for a quality lugged steel ride? Personally, almost every Keirin frame that I've seen was way too small for me, so maybe that's part of it?
Just trying to get back on topic, somewhat...

Bikes: celo europa 80's track, colnago pista, samson keirin. bite me.
i just picked up a 56cm Samson!... so as to influence... since the bigger sizes are rare, next to the fact that keirin frames are rare as it is, just makes them hot property.

I know! Where am I going to find a 58cm Keirin frame with a 56cm top tube? So I went Italian, but that's still 58/58, I think....

RoboTech and Transformers were a little after my time, but I was big into Shogun Warriors and G-Force/Battle of the Planets. The idea of 5 NJS bikes that come together to make a super robot or a transmuting spaceship hold particular appeal for me. Now THAT would be cool.

Bikes: Raleigh conversion (hours spent making it look like a Pista); Porter Track, Samson Track, Leto Roadie.
Where can I get a decal made with my name on it (like e-Richie's got on his Nagasawa, which is probably painted)?

go to a shop that make decals for motorcycles.
I got my name on my UNO on the down tube.
If you want, let me know and my cousin makes them also. ( sponsored his AMA ride til he crashed before his first race)

It's not the Bike that makes the rider.
Ie. people can spend as much as they wish on comonents and frames if they're not willing give it there all while riding. Whats the point. To look cool?

that's odd.
i think of the frame as the sum total of his nearly 40 years in the trade.
to wit, i think it's perfect. wabi-sabi, and all that! at the end of the day,
anybody could look at anything handmade and say, "foul". what is the point
of that? try to understand the history of the builder's line and i suspect you'll
look deeper than the paint layer.

(I'm not sure I'd call ultra-clean bikes crap, but they're not my thing, personally. I like to see traces of human imperfection in my handbuilt things.)

Best summed up with my e-RICHIE t-shirt that proudly states "imperfection is perfection"
