I don't think its sold out. Rob Crow does weird stuff. Check out Goblin Cock and you will wonder how the hell they are related to Pinback. I haven't hear solo Rob Crow, but I'm about to check it out.

i LOVE that you still list GUK 4 minute mile--sometimes almost a guilty pleasure, but a nostalgic favorite for sure.

me lately has been the new Peter Bjorn and John and the Books

Hey, I like discovering new bands via this thread, but that's ****ing hard when you don't put descriptions next to their names.

So can everyone, like, do that for me? Especially if they're metally, proggy.....you know......****ed up music.

TIA!

For Thylacine:

Deep Wound - EP It's the 80's, and hardcore is just getting going. Deep Wound is one of the first bands to play hardcore really fast. They put out a 7". It's way good. Members went on to be in Dinosaur Jr.
Crestfallen - Streaks of Terror From Virginia. Music that is remniscent of what was going on in Virginia at the time. Sound a bit like pg.99, I guess. Totally awesome. Totally punk. Lots of screaming and dischordance. Possibly screamo.
(the) Melvins - (a) Senile Animal Really, this should need no explanation. It's the Melvins. They went into the studio with Big Business and this is what came out. It's slow, it's heavy, it's loud. Two drummers. Two bassists. One Buzz.

That is because that album is amazing. I still think the earth is not a dead cold place is way better. The new one, still good. 3 more weeks till their show!

You should go to ghengis tron/rob crow tonight. I really want to see Dalek at the middle east too, but I think the show at TT's will be way better.

pretty much all their albums are awesome and solid, even the soundtrack they did to "friday night lights"
sadly i have an essay to write, a book and a play to read for tomorrow so i'm not going to be able to make it to the ghengis tron show. hopefully they'll come through boston again soon.

Kylesa are playing the first date of the new england metal fest at the palladium, but it isn't part of their tour with ghenis tron. April 27th I think. I've seen Kylesa play a bunch in Savannah. I've seen them at the bar and walking around in savannah than I have more than anything. I think one of them thought I was following them or something because I kept seeing him EVERYWHERE.

I'm slowly converting my lp collection to digital; it is a great way to pull some old stuff out that I haven't played in a long time.

The Sonics - "Introducing the Sonics" garage band music at its finest from the 60's. EVERYBODY has covered their stuff and style.

Breeders - "The Last Splash" not quite riot grrrl/grunge SubPop stuff. Saw them when they opened for Nirvana in Birmingham.

Psychedelic Furs - "Forever Now" post-punk of the 80's. This album must be played at full volume. Saw them at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas.

Alternative Tentacles Compilation - "Let them eat cake!" A song or two by all their bands from the early 80's. Punk music.

What's this? White Zombie's first album? Sealed? In glow in the dark vinyl? Whoa. I'll save that one for later.
