happy alcoholidays!

i'll knock back a few tonight for all the cool kids on this forum, besides a few just to, um...get drunk.

chimblysweep 12-25-05 07:52 PM

i believe in drunken holidays. anyone who doesn't have access to excessive amounts of booze can count on me to drink their share, too. you see, my holidays can be summed up by this photo:

We should pledge ourselves, as cyclists, to be alcohol free. We should set the example for America! No Booze in 2006!

Gotcha, Just kidding, I gotto go and get my 24 oz Becks from the fridge now.

Flippin Sweet 12-25-05 08:07 PM

Christmas "spirit"! Hooray! I have purloined my aunt's "secret" cache of Crown Royal and my personal holiday celebration has begun. :D

...family is good, family that drinks together is awesome.

not so much me, at least when i'm around my family (envying serendipper right now). but tonight, my sister and an old bandmate are thinking about getting together...and from there on out it's a mass of drunkenness, i'm sure. there also used to be a bunch of anarcho-punk kids here in boise, the landlocked pirates, who i guess had a pirate shot glass. does anyone in d.c. have one? this may be essential for you guys to acquire....

and flippin sweet: good work. drain all the alcohol reserves you have access to! by the way, how's the portland weather right now? since i'll be there in a couple of days, i want to know which jacket to pack.

Flippin Sweet 12-25-05 08:15 PM

The horrible ice storm has fully blown over. The temp's are fairly mild and only a little rain. It's nice. I don't want to go back to the frozen north. :(

chimblysweep 12-25-05 08:16 PM

we've now moved on to amaretto, bailey's, irish whiskey, and/or coffee. life is cosy warmy drunk.

humancongereel 12-25-05 08:20 PM

no fair! you all are way ahead of me!

and ms. sweet, thanks. that's about how it is in boise right now. so a sweatshirt and my jean jacket ought to be just fine. ooh, and i can fit both bikes to take!

Yay! I hated to think you might have to leave one behind. And chimbly, that collection is making me green with envy. Even though I, too, am way behind. I'd better get crackin'...

humancongereel 12-25-05 08:42 PM

i as well. i am going to have to leave a bike behind, at least temporarily, but it's the most ****ed up out of the three, so...oh, well.

ImOnCrank 12-25-05 09:16 PM

Chimbly I thank you for doing your part to make up for my mostly alcohol free night. Although hawt damn good wine is the ****. Human, do you know the invaders of the heart circus kids from boise?

Not to piss on the Holidays/boozing parade but:

Never drank an alcoholic drink in my life, was vegetarian and vegan for years, vegetarian again at present. Can't say i feel i missed out on squat! I am just glad all you happy drinkers presumably don't drive/cycle after you have drunk some.

... Read this if you want to know where i am coming from, but i warn you it may sober you right up:

http://www.riinsrants.info/culture/misery.htm

It is about how Ken Kifer (cyclist hero i think) got killed by a drunk driver but also about alcohol in general

Oh by the way i love Maddox as well, he the man.

Serendipper 12-25-05 11:53 PM

Just to make ya'll feel better, I didn't actually drink the cognac.

I prefer the use of an intravenous drip...

chimblysweep 12-25-05 11:54 PM

ok, i'm reclaiming this thread. this is not some straightedge vegan lovefest preachathon. this is a celebration of the drunkenness that is the Festivus season. drunk drunk drunk fixed bikers. that's who we are.

btw- tequila rose, i've just discovered, is really really nasty stuff. back to the DiSaronno for me.

love you, too, man.

in fact, love to all bikeforums!

however, i have to admit that i was being a bit sardonic. i haven't had a drink in 9 years, like the guy with the weird "L" in his username.

furthermore, i really, really, really, want this to turn into a sXe vegan lovefest. we can leave the preaching at the door, though

mrRed 12-26-05 12:08 AM

you can keep the DiSaronno ... I'll keep with JW black and heinekin if I have my choice.
