Aero levers for fixie...

Im new, dont be too hard on me...
Are there any aero style levers that do not have shifters associated w/them? I cant seem to find any. Also since we are on this topic, since I am not running a rear brake...do most people run the hood on the right, or hood+lever or nothing? Thanks for any info guys..

Yes. I believe Shimano still makes brake only levers. Armstrong used to run one on the left on his climbing bike at the TdF. Most people's right hand is stronger. So it is good to use it on the right unless you think you'll panic stop and endo. You can also just run a cyclocross or MTB lever. If you run two hoods it gives you an extra hand position.

Cane Creek makes some that look more comfortable, IMHO, than the Shimanos. The 600 hoods tend to be a little too thin and pointy.

Tektro makes some knock-offs for cheap.

Is there any reason to spend more $$ on nice levers, or will the cane creeks (or shimanos) do the job just fine? I am getting that campy itch....so hard to resist, but money better spent someplace else?

I'm using these on my fixed and my road bike. Very comfy and sharp looking but they do rattle some.
