I want good track bike (like Colnago or Bianchi Pista - my dream). But it's impossible in my country.

By the way.
Atom gearing: 48x14
My gearing 44x13 - normal for me.

Hey Vova welcome to the forum. I like your bike It looks like it makes you smile alot and for that I envy you

na975 01-06-06 03:22 PM

i want one :D

Vova 01-06-06 03:41 PM

Тахион (Takhion) - it's Ukraine made bike. ХВЗ - Харьковский (Harkov) Велосипедный Завод.
It's really Old Skool.

I saw the bike like that in Krylatskoe. But it was a working bicycle (for training), not for sale.

Try this forum: Harkov bike forum

i really, really, really, really like that bike. nice.

Anightinthewood 01-06-06 05:08 PM

Hey Vova, i read those forums that you posted on and those kids got really angry at you for no reason. dont worry man. they just dont get it. You should tell them to take a trip out to NYC and race us on those MTB of theirs see who wins. Its kinda funny how against it they are.

What about this:

By the way.
Takhion is a hand made frame.
They had made only for sportsmans.

Serendipper 01-06-06 06:00 PM

Only made for racer's huh? Still easier to get than that Cinelli. There's only one of those,Vova, and you're looking at it!

I know. It's like Takhion. You will not find this bike.

jyossarian 01-06-06 06:54 PM

I checked the first forum and found this bit translated by babelfish to sum up their resistance:

Some delirious theme... I think, no one not will attempt to try THIS, since "after getting to know perfection, do not agree to a compromise" (S)

Serendipper 01-06-06 06:58 PM

Uhmmm...what was the context?

jyossarian 01-07-06 12:58 AM

The context is the Vova's offer to let people try riding his FG and the others, mostly mtb'ers, arguing that a fixed gear is pointless, retro, stupid, etc. and that no one would want to try it since they're riding the perfect bikes already.

You absolutely right.
It's very sadly, but it's truth.

Aeroplane 01-07-06 06:08 PM

Vova

This is one of the most interesting things I've read about in a long time. Your bike and the pictures are amazing. Keep riding, and spread the word!

huhenio 01-07-06 06:21 PM

Hail to VOVA 1st! Emperor of all the fixed russias~!

I like your fixed mountain bike.

I want to make similar bike for me.

Go and race other bikers with gears, and win

TheDL 01-07-06 10:57 PM

How crazy would it be to alleycat in Moscow?!?!

I'm sorry, but i don't know this word. I often read this word on bike websites. What it means: alleycat?

Serendipper 01-08-06 06:51 PM

Alleycat (al'e'kat): unsanctioned street racing. Usually involves checkpoints, spokecards, and alcoholic beverages. Fixed gear bikes without brakes are common at these events.

Anightinthewood 01-08-06 06:53 PM

its a slang word for a race that happens on city streets with competitors picking and chosing their own route between a number of check points...

Vova 01-08-06 07:27 PM

Ok, thanks. I've understood.
I don't know about other cities, but in Moscow alleycat were never happened.
I thought of similar competitions. I have thought up a route with 7 checkpoints.
But it has appeared very hard and very long route for others.
I wish to think up something else in next summer.

Fixed gear bikes without brakes are common at these events.
I have unique FG bike in Russia. :D

Vova 01-08-06 07:35 PM

By the way. I have started to study English language recently. Tell me please what you think about my English.

humancongereel 01-08-06 07:49 PM

your english sounds fine to me. just learn slang. also, we can be sloppy with the language. those can be confusing. i know little bits of two other languages, and those are the hard things to learn. slang is hard. native speakers often don't speak properly. it can be hard until you get used to that.
