I had one of these, except without the lame plastic thing

it had grip tape that was cut into fish gills, the grip tape towards the nose of the board had fish eye and mouth

pretty sweet

independent without a doubt, trackers (lol, plastic baseplate, wtf) and gullwing sux

I had powell & peralta T-Bones, they were HUGE--totally unlike the newer wheels, which are small

new decks seem like what used to be called "freestyle" decks

I had this one, by SkullSkates, and loved it passionately, but I never could skate worth a crap.

I used to be sponsored by Skull Skates. I rode so many of those tub-tech boards. Crazy concave...

I never rode ramp, some of local folks had decent halfpipes, but I never caught on

I was badass street skater though, never liked little "flip-tricks" I like to ride FAST and ollie HIGH onto stuff, grind, stuff like that--maybe I should try mtb again, with obstacles and speed might be similar

like road bike fast, and might like fixie in urban setting

...I remember spending like, 10 hours learning to wallride the front of my buddies house. Some kids wanted to beat Super Mario Bros. Me? I wanted to be Evil Kenieval and jump over stuff/go fast. Haven't changed one bit! (Except now I avoid the hospital...parent's med insurance ran out at 18! )

my favorite deck is one I won, Vision Gator deck, Indy trucks, and Sims "Pure Juice" wheels, they're like 2.25" wide. Bombing hills will never leave my life, if you ride through frederick maryland you'll still see scrolled at the top of some hills, "Bomb Hills, Not People." I doubt too many people know what it means...

although i missed the 80's era, i have been skating for over a decade. skateboarding was my exclusive thing for years, then i slowly started branching off... its still my main hobby, but now i do bikes (fixed, MTB, trials), surf, snowboard, etc.

Thrashin' is hillarious. I bought it from the local video rental place for 5 bucks.. I guess no one ever rented it heh. Score.

I've got a pretty sweet collection of 80's vids though...

The two H-Street vids are signed by Matt Hensley. Siiiick.

Have you read this book? It brought back so many memories of mail-order skateboard catalogues and made me feel warm and fuzzy.

P.S. Pistaboy is alright. However, my little brother (also 14 yr old roadie) could probably kick his butt
