I'd like it to be more along the lines of a group ride, people staying together most of the time (people climb at different speeds, of course), but you're looking at long days in the saddle, so depending on how many days the trip was for it could be pushing to not stop, or takin some time, depending.

rethinking, it actually seems like a 3-day'er might be the best way to do it. one day out to the end of the island, ferry across the next morning, get within shooting distance the end of that day, and the next day arrive somewhat early.

yeah, that's what i was thinking... a century the first day out to montauk, ferry across in the morning with a little sight seeing on block island, then up to providence, then 3rd day into boston.

If anyone wants to do a cold weather shorter ride, I'd be up a philly to NYC ride one sunday. Take a chinatown bus down the night before and ride back the next morning.

where are you going? are you moving? (a single tear falls down EnLaCalle's cheek and into a glass of water on the table, creating tiny ripples of sadness to radiate outward from the epicenter of his chomboless grief [in slow motion]).

We bought the Philly guys a round when they managed to ride up here. Maybe we'll buy you guys two rounds, since it'll be cold out.

I might be able to help out with accomodations for a few of you.

if we did it as a three day ride we'd need places to crash in montauk (motel would probably be easiest), providence, and boston. i could probably find places for a few folks in boston and providence.

I have a ton of space in my loft for people to sleep if you don't mind hard floors and subpar heating.

I could probably find a place in for a head in Boston as well, but providence is foreign to me. I was hopin we'd get enough people to just crash a motel room and pass out on the floor somewhere if at all possible.

i like trying to crash with folks, meet new peeps and hang if we're in cities with lotsa folks around. i can check with chris at Circle A and see if he had ideas for places to crash and stuff to do in providence. Maybe we could swing by the workshop. I also know other peeps around there.

From: south side, you got a problem with that?
i'm obviously up for this, depending upon when you want to go. i'm from montauk, and i have friends in providence and boston. plus, i've already done this in reverse (with yoshi on r1).
