Thread of the week!

Vote ya jerks!

humancongereel 01-05-06 06:02 PM

where's the pistaboy thread? fine, i'll vote from what's up there....they're all fantastic candidates.

BostonFixed 01-05-06 06:44 PM

I know it wasn't this week, but I liked the thread where Joe Gardner threatened to shut down the FG/SS forum unless we cleaned up our act.

humancongereel 01-05-06 06:46 PM

i think i wanna change my vote. "what threads i should never start" is getting pretty amusing.

hyperRevue 01-05-06 07:00 PM

i had no idea about that. i've had to spend the past few days rendering stuff and have had too much time sitting and watching a beachball spin around on my screen. i'm guilty of reckless boredom.

i'm also incredibly guilty of violating a lot of those guidelines.

it's funny though. irreverance and creativity are a huge part of FF/SG culture. looking back at a lot of threads on the front page, the off-topic stuff and silliness is pretty well contained in a couple of specific threads. it dips into others, but it doesn't drive them.

if people are looking for straight answers, isn't that what the search function is for?

if people are looking for community that's what poking around is for. community takes all types if you don't want to end up with a mausoleum.

I voted Kermit because, obviously, the Muppets are rad.

Serendipper 01-05-06 07:31 PM

Here's Kermit rockin' bare tt bars, reversed and chopped. He's riding a vintage Bianchi pista, in the original celeste glory...

And yes, the frog is pulling a one-handed trackstand...

*edit* This was taken from TerrorInPink's collection. Credit given, credit due. Thanks, girl! :p

That one is left hand drive TOO! Didja ever notice all Muppet guitarists play lefty? Really check out Electric Mayhem. http://www.serienoldies.de/images2/m...ric_mayhem.jpg

Left hand drive bikes, left handed guitarists, it's some sort of puppet leftist conspiracy!

hyperRevue 01-05-06 07:39 PM

That bass player is playing righty.

spider-man 01-05-06 07:46 PM

Her name is Janice, dood.

hyperRevue 01-05-06 07:48 PM

The bass player is a boy.
Sgt. Floyd Pepper.

sr20det 01-05-06 07:49 PM

do any of the muppets play an instrument in weezer's Keep Fishin' music vid?

dustinlikewhat 01-05-06 07:59 PM

.

right--if i need real advice, i know i'll get it here. if i need a laugh, i know i'll get one here, too, and i think from some pretty rad people, too.

but we've had this conversation before.

mattface 01-05-06 10:21 PM

The base player plays lefty too.
http://www.fashionfollower.com/jpg/emayhem.jpg
There must be something wrong with that picture.

I've been observing this for years ALL muppets play Guitar (and bass guitar) lefty, not just the members of Electric Mayhem.

I've not checked this, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out that post-disney they all were forced to switch hands.http://scottyboombox.com/graphics/EmmetOtter-sm.jpg

humancongereel 01-06-06 12:20 AM

when did disney take over? there was definitely a point when the **** went downhill.

Serendipper 01-06-06 12:36 AM

When Jim Henson died... :crash:

humancongereel 01-06-06 01:11 AM

i dunno..it took a few viewings, but eventually i liked the muppets christmas carol...it retained some of the original irreverence. but that muppets wizard of oz they did on abc this spring...abysmal....
