Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

This is the ss/fg forum. Who isn't an elitist these days? Elitism is hip!

The signal to noise ratio is crap. Get over it. Shants answered my question about the spindle taper on a Shimano bottom bracket and then two days later sent me a pic of a girl ****ing a horse. That's exactly why I post on these forums. You people are a great wealth of information, entertainment and dare I say it ... *cringes* ... friendship.

I just wish people would stop taking themselves so seriously.

First, Godzilla would CLEARLY beat slayer, unless slayer could play their guitars as good as the Ninjas from realultimatepower.com.

Second: This forum is fun because it is a little bit stupid. Problem is, it gets WAY TOO stupid. Community is all well and good, but heres a shot at analogy:

If you were like me as a teenager, you were a huge pothead, and you hung out with other huge potheads. WHen you go to a party, you tended to hand out with your friends, smoking weed and acting like rude obnoxious badasses. But if you weren't a jerk, you would ALSO mingle with the other good folk, and not treat them the same way you treat your friends--badly. Also, if you were not a jerk, you would realize that someone else is throwing this party, and that while that person who invited you wants you to be yourself, they also want you to not piss in their fireplace, or ask their mother for felatio.

uhhh... pista is a track frame(to some people) and what do you mean by 'compact' I don't think track bikes are any more compact, unless your talking about wheelbase. Face it dude, your a closet hipster I don't mind people *****ing, everyone does it, but to be new to the forums and have a attitude right off is very annoying.

BF, what's with attacking my Japanese brother Ceya? not cool man, he's a honorary asian... helpful and full of great knowledge so please chill out and find someone else much less helpful to 'make and example' of. Thanks you, good night.

Metal guy "Hey dorks, nice dolls."
Gwar "They're figurines!"

Dear Mods, I know it must seem occasionally like you're babysitting a bunch of rowdy toddlers in this forum, but we're all sweet kids at heart and some of us will even grow up to be the President someday. Or that homeless guy I see all the time in Boston who claims to have been a messenger back in the day. Either way, all the pizza/sandwich/beer/pie nonsense is just our way of spreading the love. When we all got together in Chicago, we didn't stand around all day talking chainlines and repairs. Nope, we ate pizza and sandwiches and pies and washed them down with beer. Then we talked chainlines. We broke stuff, and repaired stuff, took goofy photos. Then we rode our bikes until sunrise. It's all part of the game.
