Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? "If I'm not now, then I never was. And that's all right with me. But where were you when I saw current in 1993?"

my band is a 2 piece cheap ripoff of the evens, the violent femmes and they might be giants.

if you have some questions bout putting out records i can share my experiences. i've released 15 so far. if you're a newish band, i highly recommend releasing something yourself for the first release. first, it will take a lot of pressure off of you to "succeed" and make your label happy and you can just focus on being a band and having fun. secondly, it will show labels in the future that you're serious and dedicated and not just looking for handouts and someone to do everything for you.

you can get 1000 cds printed through imprint (iloveimprint.com - awesome people!) for around $1000 i think. another option is icon (builtbyicon.com - also good folks). imprint also does 7" covers. for cheap vinyl (yet still listenable) go through united (urpressing). it won't be the best but it's solid. lotsa large labels use them. for 12" covers you can use icon as well. for cheap vinyl mastering and plating, use aardvark (aardvarkmastering.com). so there's a tutorial on getting cheap records done. everyone make some now!

if you're in europe the best bet for vinyl is probably GZ in the Czech Republic. A lot of labels here even use them. Good heavy vinyl and covers. https://www.gzcd.cz

sure thing.

Feel free to drop my name with Paul Gold at Vinylmastering. He's a very good mastering guy. He also does studio wiring.
