A BFFSG Phenomenon
so this probably applies more to large cities with high numbers or forum members moreso than places with one fixie rider in the whole city, but i find myself going places and checking out bikes and wondering if the bikes owner is a forum member.
i was at great lakes in park slope tonight and saw multiple fixies go by outside, then left and saw an IRO chained up in front with several spoke cards, one being a Midnight Frostbite '05 card, and wondering who it belonged to.
kinda pointless thread but whatever! despite the drinks at great lakes being WEAK i have a pretty solid buzz happening.

Bikes: cannondale cyclocross, gan well pro (unmarked from the factory in kyoto!!) track bike. In parts. Partial (historical) ownership of fuji track bike; Fire Breathing Horse. Motobecane messenger track (pink).
not really. there's a particular peugeot conversion in my neighborhood that I've noticed and today I saw they guy who owns it riding down the street. I thought, "huh, so that's the guy that belongs to that bike."
I tend to remember bikes and forget the people who own them, unless they are equally interesting. I'm in brooklyn so I know my local BF freaks.

I know there are a bunch of BF members in Chicago. I don't know any of them, probably because I am at least twice their age on average and roll mostly on the South Side before sundown.
So if anyone from Chicago spots a 50-something dork wearing a Sox hat and riding a gold (rattle can job) Jamie Roy, that's me. Give me a wave or at least one finger up, hopefully the thumb.

After reading this thread, I saw a fixie rider comin through my neighborhood, and I couldnt help but wonder if it was one of the members that lives here on spring garden. An official spokecard would be way cool. ALso... on other forums, you can have a pic of yourself in your profile. Is that available here? cause it would be cool to have a basic drive-side pic of the whole bike so that you can see what bikes to look for in your hood.
