Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'M A PHYSICIST GOD DAMN YOU.

That had nothing to do w/ track vs non-track parts, that had to do with having your seatpost out 1 cm past the minimum insertion line on a frame with a super-extended seat tube. You're a physicist, right? You know how a lever works, right?

Some of you have serious issues with thinking critically, and discerning intent from textual sources.

Aliteracy is clearly on the rise.

HUH?

BACK TO OP

Seaden, you can get cranks and other parts at business cycle or world class and ask your lbs, they can usually order things for you and if your on pretty good terms with them, they'll usually give you a good price for them.

if you really want to ride the frame right away, why don't you just strip your conversion for it's parts?

My wife's beater has RDs. They're alright. But be careful: they are road cranks after all (and not very nice ones at that), and thus may make your bike explode.

for the time being why not just move the parts over from what ever you're riding now to the new frame? hang 'em on there, ride around for a few minutes, if everything seems OK, odds are everything is OK. it's a bicycle, and a very simple one at that, it ain't no NASA space shuttle.

hahahaha! not to resurrect such an old thread but the hilarity of that dude illiterately spelling "illiteracy" is just too much to not allow everyone the joy of returning to.

you think it's funny now, wait till i get to have a reaction when you realize that alliterate is a word that makes sense in the context used above, since illiterate clearly does not.
