There were something like 145 people who registered for MT last year. I believe about 90-some finished. I was running registration at the time, but this year I will be racing - my first monstertrack ever.
Here are the results from last year

Spud, you're gonna photograph? Anyone else (that's super good) planning on doing the same? I'd like to coordinate with you + Amy for the website.

for now, though, let's just say to all our BF brethren that you'll have crash space, though it'll most likely be floor space. so bring sleeping bags.
after visiting boston, chicago, and DC recently, i have been struck by how little space new yorkers have comparatively. don't get freaked out by our tiny holes.

MSNGR, frankly, I'm kind of surprised that you haven't already volunteered my floorspace for several people. You're slipping, now that you've got a star.
Anyway, my floor is open. We can all hang out with my landlord/super. He loves it when I have guests.

I think I want to try and do a road race (shhhhhhh!!!!! don't tell anyone) on Sunday. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH. Let's keep my ass up all night long, and you can all trudge out to Prospect Park at 6am to watch me race with the roadies.
oop, no. upon further research, that's a central park race. Ain't doin that. PP's on Monday morning.
what were you saying, Mareesha?

Two of my PGH friends (Rob and Zak) whooped some serious ass last Monster Track, but I don't expect to do 1/10th as well as they did... My plan is to bust my ass following a group of people to the promised land. Is it suggested that I arrive early on Friday and find out where the checkpoints are?

i worked my first checkpoint at MT 2005 and nearly became a multiple amputee from the cold, if not for the whiskey (thank you, ohio girls!). i may be tempted to volunteer this year but i dunno.. offering up my couch and floor is prolly as generous as i'll get this time.. so if anyone is coming out solo or with one other, PM me.

ChicagoDream pm me and I'll mail you a map if you want.
Just relax, it's all about going with (or against) the flow and having a good time, no need to have it all plotted and planned.

me and my cousin (sers) are gonna try to go to this. i gotta replace my stripped crankset and bottom bracket and come up with money for the bus to get down there, but i can probably crash at my buddys place in brooklyn.
couple questions though
1: is this a long race? how long would it be roughly (in miles)?
2: how much is it to enter?
3: what time does it start?
also i assume other bostonians are going, any of you want to practice up with us over the next couple weekends?

Bikes: allez fuji tracku nishiki TT GT KHS arrow Miner 29'er CIOCC Corsair and now a f*cking awesome waterford skeet velo
If'n I push some bikes aside I may be able to take a little overflow from s_9's spot to mine just up the street.
But like msngr stated earlier above, space is criminally minimal around here.
people are gonna prefer to sleep on the park benches out front..
