since people are posting about it, i may as well see if anyone has floor space for 2 people - my girlfriend and i. we will be in town for the race and high level alcoholism. let me know. i'd really appreciate it. alternatively, if anyone knows of any cheap motels/hotels around where the race/festivities will be, that'd be awesome to know, too.

BWAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAA!!! You silly non-NYers....

My floor is available. Space enough for five-eight sleeping bags and bikes packed in like sardines. My neighborhood is booooooring, but it has quick access to the top of CP.

On the slim chance that I can go, I may be able to negotiate some space for someone. I know heaps of people in NYC, but they all live in dinky apartments.

Bikes: Raleigh conversion (hours spent making it look like a Pista); Porter Track, Samson Track, Leto Roadie.

Any indication of what neighborhood/area the race/festivities will be in?

Without even knowing, I think it's safe to say that the race will cover a lot of Manhattan, and the partying will be in Brooklyn.

the nybma site. I figure we could put photographers at different locations so we get good shots from everywhere. Amy is the fulltime official photographer for the nybma. Or something like that. She'll be back by MT, I hope. Then we'll put a badass photo gallery together.

yeah cool, i was going to ask for a map with checkpoints (i know i know, worth a shot though) and skip a few here and there to get the leaders and mid-pack, maybe jump back a couple and get the not-so-fast racers. whatever you want us to do is cool, i'd like to ride at the beginning and definitely be at the finish if nobody is assigned to it.

on the housing front, i can stay with a friend in spanish harlem, but hes not much of a cyclist, so if i can crash at chombo/s_9/msngr/ELC thatd be a bit more ideal.

one bone to throw: it'll start in the afternoon.
i'm just concerned because i'm not uber-familliar with NYC and don't know where to go period. i mean i know from that red light go dvd that people hang out in tompkins square park, that's about it. when i get off the bus i have no clue where to go or how to find out where to go.

Don't be too worried — it's part of the fun, being in an unfamiliar place. I'm pretty sure there will be enough riders on the streets for you to keep an eye on.
Or you can get on a local wheel. Not all of us bite.

and you don't have to mess with getting to/from the airport; the bus drops you off really close to the action. We should get an official phone number/crashspace list going on. I'll be more than happy to show some out of towners how to get around.

I have floor and couch space for at least four in Brooklyn. Also plenty of room for bikes to rest comfortably. Oooh, also, if anyone arriving on Friday is DYING to practice riding in traffic, come follow me while I work!

I'm going to follow Shants's lead. Would anybody be generous enough to offer one average-sized dude and bike crash-space for the night?

I have floor space for about four.

NYC peeps, we should work it out and have a list and see who we're gonna house so it's not a gaggle f**k as usual.

dude lets make a BF boston bus trip down and hook up with these New York BF kids all together... Yah but like I said before a lottery would probably be a good idea you know like some sort of list or system to see what people are going to house... well you get the idea.

Oh and if anyone's planning on coming to boston for the one shot race or the shlitz and giggles race you can pm me... I will probably have plenty of couch and floor space. 3 couches and unlimited floor space!
