Alfred won again this year. Top prize - a wheel set and a thousand dollars. Track C*nt (Andy) from Melbourne was second, and I believe Felipe third.

I think the guys from Denver should be disqualified. They are used to breathing that high altitude thin air, and when they come to New York and breathe our thicker, more oxygen rich air it is like blood doping for them.

Sorry, thanks for the correction. I was in the back and it was a bit hard to see and hear.

Kick-ass time. I saw one rim explode, and got an informational pamphlet from a perks dept guy ast Washington Square Park, along with a 10 minute lecture. If only I weren't a moron...

Props to AfterThisNap for lending me his floor and towel. Good to meet everybody who I met. NYC is awesome!

that's really cool to hear. i thought i was doing unbelievably badly, but i passed you and your pack on the bridge. that means that if i hadn't dislocated and fractured my shoulder at king kog, i would have gotten around 48-52 or so.

it trully was a great race. it was also probably the last bike riding i'll be doing for the next 4-6 weeks at least... ****

Bikes: a few

This is a short snippet of Felipe slicing through traffic. He rolled into the first checkpoint in 4th place at this point.

stuff like this helps remind you how unbelievably bad the roads in NYC are. down around battery i hit a rough spot and came down hard on my seat which stripped the seatpost clamp screw and impaled my groin with my seat. i had to beat it back into a workable position and tighten it down as much as i could.... i can't get it off now. haha, fun stuff. that combined with overestimated my knowledge of downtown, not looking at a map ahead of time, and getting turned around as **** down there cost me a bunch of time, but my goal was to finish in the middle of the pack and i did. first alleycat. first real brakeless ride. i had an amazing time.

checkpoints???
Plus, start and finish locations.
The people want to know. At least those that are still kicking themselves for not being there for it.
Watching that quick video, I could see that 14th and 5th Ave was a checkpoint (though I may be mistaken). Where else?

From: south side, you got a problem with that?
Yo, ellen from action force won 1st female!

i'm so proud.

lots of accidents. especially boots. i couldn't even watch him get into the ambulance. ouch.

this is salome ... msngr made me late for the race but i'm not really upset. well not too upset. everyone send their love etc. to boots and his shoulder. s_9 won goldsprints with withnail a close second. turd and luggedwithlove put on a good goldsprint show. what else ... msngr invited the usual underaged girls to s_9's last night. ugh. jitensha gave me a "salome" headbadge which ranks up there as one of the best gifts ever. wangster is hilarious and made in taiwan. chombo has excellent taste in cannoli. i love the dc crew. etc. time for food. more later. all the pics I have are from goldsprints.

Another awesome sight was while racing down on 5th ave Alex tightened his straps real tight. I guess he didn't put his foot down until the finish line.

1. What'd I tell you! She's the most dominant rider on the eastern sea board!
2. You're not proud of me? I'm hurt, really. When I flatted near 42nd and rode the **** until Tompkins where I was graciously given another bike to ride, all I could think of was your ultimatum. Four miles on a flat, unfamiliar bike with straps not cleats and still managed 15th? Give me some sugar!
b. animalfixed- any footage of me demanding someone there at 23rd give me a bike? Sorry. Alex, also sorry for trying to order you off your bike.
3. Salome- save the baby sitting till after the race next time.

well if i wasnt last i was close but i did meet a super nice brother named greg (goolde)sp, iam sure
i butchered his last name. anyways i rode with him and his friends from tompkins on to the finish.
this was my first race and no matter how bad i finished i realized two things.
1) i need to get into better shape
2)this was really really fun and i want too do it again soon.

That footage of Felipe is exactly why 90% of us would have no chance of getting near the top 10 of this race.

Also, what is this ***** about people DEMANDING other peoples' bikes at checkpoints? Sure, your bike punked out on you, but that doesn't entitle you to someone else's friggin' chariot..

ps, highlights of forum interest include:
-TIMES UP! with the most insane out of control skid recovery on fifth that ended with the tire rolling off the rim.
-Watching S_9 run into the back of a bus.
-Watching Marcelinyc getting f-ing hammered by a car going up S. 5th to King Kog. HIS HEAD BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. Helmet helmet helmet. He was fine, bike was fine, kept riding. Ended up winning "best accident." **** was crazy.

Hello.

Quick question to the riders who ride alleycats and ride them to win (not just for fun). Why in the hell do you wear your chain or even a messenger bag for that matter? I was watching and none of the top 4 riders carried any baggage and ****.
