i didn't shoot at all inside. i'm pretty sure i saw you with the black bianchi behind the basketball court in bushwick. i was filming with a film camera and not a DV camera, so i only had fast enough film to shoot outside. the guy you saw shooting inside was probably mike from bikeblog. i think i got some sick footage during the skids yesterday. i was filming right at the lock-up line and that street was damn photogenic.

Amtrak crew is back in Chicago.

Monstertrack was really fun! props to all racers and organizers. I met lots of great folks at Rocky's. Shouts to s_9, chombo, mareesha, fixednotbroken, and everyone else i spoke to in a drunken blur.

Finished 101st, which i can live with... pretty sure my time would have been significantly better had i not followed someone to the same checkpoint twice. he took a different route to the "tree" C.P. and i didn't realize it till we got to the park. Thankfully i ran into Salome and Msngr who kindly escorted me across the bridge to
king kog. Thanks guys, and Msngr heal up quick! same to you boots. That looked like some painful shizz.

Whoever suggested keeping tire pressure low, THANK YOU. those nyc streets are rufff.

I can't get those words out of my head from the start up on that hill:
YOU WANT THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST! MONSTERTRACK GO!

freakin awesome time.

yea we ended up on the 1:15 bus because sers lost his bus ticket, but did make it out alive despite **** luck all weekend. sers got 3 flats, and when we finally got back to boston they wouldn't let him on his train ride home with his bike so he had to hoof it.

I had so much ****ing fun at this race, despite feeling like complete ****. Everyone was so much fun to meet and hangout with, thank you guys so much for one of the most memorable weekends of my life. I got to the race just in time and lost before it even started, running down the hill I could feel that I wasn't going to do well... I started walking halfway down the hill. I got passed by like 5 people on fifth ave before my wreck. I had just blasted through an intersection smooth as hell and passed a couple people in the process when I came to stopped traffic infront of the met. there were busses everywhere and when I came up on this one bus I went to the right, but there was no room to pass there so I swerved to the left where there was just enough room to pass through the bus and a car. Right as I was going inbetween them both the bus and the car started moving closer to eachother. My bars hit the car first.. I think... I'm not 100% sure what happened but I do know that I went down pretty hard. I tacoed my rim to the point that it snapped in one place, I hit my penis on my stem (luckly not my balls and my penis is ok now) and flipped over my bars. Just after falling, I picked up my bike and semi crawl-walked to the curb and curled over. Aeroplane was right behind me when it happened to me, helped me to the curb and made sure I was alright. The lady driving the car asked if I was alright and if there was anything she could do, but I just wanted her to go away so I told her that she should just leave. Aeroplane then asked if I had any money to buy a wheel, and the truth was I didn't, so he did the kindest thing anyone has done for me in a while and gave me $60 (i love you man, I'll pay you back the next time I see you I swear) to buy a new wheel with so that I could at least ride home and if not finish the race too then he took off to finish the race. Pete! came by next and stopped to see if I was alright, we decided to go find bike shops together and try to get dfl... Well an hour later I had a new $60 wheel on my bike and my destroyed wheel on my back but by the time pete and I made it to the first checkpoint everyone was gone, so we just went to rockstar. I had a bunch of drinks there and got second in the goldsprints two seconds behind s-9... who I'll beat next time hahahah. I won a huge crumpler back pack (with a laptop case) and a cellphone holder which I feel made up for the wheel incident. Everyone I met was awesome and I'm really glad I did this... thank you to everyone who bought me drinks or food or whatever... I love you all.

Chicago... get ready for me I'm coming in a month! woo!!!

i tried my hardest this time to call people by their real names, not just their BF ones. Although for some reason i kept calling chombo chombo. although i think when he rode off the last time i did say his real name.

boots, hang in there. too bad we met under such crummy circumstances. all those coats did belong to really good looking girls ... you have it made.

i had a great time. nice to see everyone again or meet for the first time. all the more reason for us to gather in SF next year for MNG 2.

first: good to meet everyone the race was a blast!

but once i reach rockys something overtook me in the name of $2 yuenglings, SO

second: i would like to apologize to anyone i might have offended, spit beer on, squeezed, pinched or hugged for too long

favorite memories:
trying to catch up to chombo on 5th ave and not being able to (go little legs go! lots of cursing)
having a mouthful of beer spit upon me by brean. apparently i deserved it.
simply falling off of my bike while trying to give it to salome...

i was out of control, but having fun the whole time!

I'll definately look up you Chicago folks if I wind up down there in the near future. I've heard nothing but good things about that town lately. I might swing through there this summer.

coolio. it was nice to chat w/you at the bar for a bit.
being in NY definitely made me apreciate our wide streets, but there's no comparison to the energy of NY.

yarr. chicago kids are cool, even if your cops hate on us.
i dragged it up on chimbly's suggestion, i myself didnt know it was so high up and would have just locked the frame and brought the wheel had i known. i then dragged it all the way down only to wait while chimbly and jitensha fixed their slower-leaking flats. damn you NYC potholes!
