Built for my friend. She loves it. I love it. Does anybody know the japanese word that's roughly equivalent to beausage. Momentum and I were talking about it the other day but we couldn't remember it.

That bike is more punk rock than most punk rockers I know.

veteran_youth 03-14-06 07:31 PM

The stem(s): If you notice the Syncros stem has a bevelled top that requires a special top cap. I have 2 bikes with those stems and only one cap, AND the star fangled nut on that fork was pressed too deep so the bolt would not anchor into it with enough spacers to keep the HS tight........SO the only solution I could think of at the time was to use another stem purely to keep the HS tight and replace the spacers. The next logical step will be a second handle bar, which I assure you will be beyond punk rock.

As for the handle in the top tube.........if you aren't on the "drilling holes in your frame to attach random useless found objects" bandwagon.......you probably never will be. But if/when hipsters everywhere are scouring ebay for rare Victorian and Art Deco handles to bolt to their Bianchis, remember who started that ish!

I've seen Sheldon Brown do it, and he has definitely gone where no punk has gone before.

I have to say man, the ****kicker bikes are the best. I know I know, the clean, nice one you take good care of and try not to drop is always the bomb... yet my stable always used to have a ****kicker in it. Its the heavy ugly one with a rack for beer, covered in stickers and crap thats hilarious but you would NEVER put on the good bike, the one you drop instead of lean, the one you carry your buddies around on when youre stoned...

I praise your bike good sir, and the handle is merely a pimpass way to lug it around, aint no harm in dat.

craigmoyer 04-09-08 10:37 AM

finally pictures of bikes that get used!

i'll have to post a recent picture of my grimy ride after i get off work...

no broken spokes, but 9 are bent and my lockring threads are pretty much gone after a bad chain drop. After my spring clean-up and rebuild of the bike, a bail-out bmx freewheel is going on.
