Anyone have any experience with this vendor? The super cheap price raises my red flag for scammer. Though they could just have good prices.

kludge 02-21-06 11:40 PM

dunno about the vendor but the wheels are tits.

spud 02-21-06 11:41 PM

are these the same fixed/fixed hubs?

****. I just ordered the same wheels from Gnashbar on Sunday! (on sale for $150)

Sweet deal though. I'll second the question of if they are built on the same fixed/fixed hubset the Nashbar wheels are.

Landgolier 02-22-06 10:02 AM

Holy Crap! Even compared to building those yourself, that's like getting the spokes for free if you paid retail for the hubs and rims.

crushkilldstroy 02-22-06 10:04 AM

"the connection was refused."

****.

so i'm assuming these are the same wheels that nashbar has? what kind of price are we looking at?

muftek 02-22-06 10:05 AM

Great wheelset , like all our wheels is professionally hand built on a 3 cross pattern.

Rims: Mavic CXP22 700c 32 holes Silver.

Hubs: Formula Sealed Bearing Track Hubs.

Spokes : DT Stainless Steel 2.0 spokes and Nipples.

Weight: 1049 gms Front and 1105 gms Rear.

This are perfect replacement wheels for track bikes for training or for everyday riding. The hubs are fully serviceable.

Price: $125

crushkilldstroy 02-22-06 10:07 AM

damn. if i was looking for silver wheels, this would be it.

yeah, does anyone know if these are fix/fix, single fix, or fix/free?

also, i'm considering buying a set as a backup wheelset - how do these wheels stand up to the streets, and how durable is the threaded area? lots of problems with stripping?

rvabiker 02-22-06 11:24 AM

We're getting into a grey area with the seller(no red star) describing them and setting a price...

Alexi 02-22-06 11:25 AM

no we are not getting into grey area, we are discussing a seller and his price, the seller is not one of the people posting so it's all cool...

rvabiker 02-22-06 11:34 AM

My fault, I didn't realize muftek just copied and pasted what was on the linked page. I thought when he said "we" he was the seller. Just a little jittery from all the deleted threads lately. Carry on.

Mueslix 02-22-06 11:37 AM

I have the nashbar version. Really good wheels. When theys old them back in Dec. they were fixed/free.

AfterThisNap 02-22-06 11:48 AM

once you add in shipping it's pretty much the same cost as getting the same wheels at a LBS (at least in NYC). It's the exact same set I've used. Pretty durable. Had to do a little retensioning to the rear last night, and the factory locknuts backed off by themselves. Torque them up when you first get them.

BTW. I always wondered how much these things weighed. Good Lawd they are heavy. I'm just used to sub 1600 gram wheelsets I guess.

Where?

Show me a shop where I can get a set of formula/cpx22 track wheels for ~$150.
