Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Bikes: 2007 Surly Long Haul Trucker 54cm (Commuting/Wanna' go tour so bad), 1985 Trek 670 21" (Road), 2003 Gary Fisher Tassajara 17" (MTB), Cannondale DeltaV 600 (commuterized MTB), some junker bikes in my garage

Anyone have any experience with this vendor? The super cheap price raises my red flag for scammer. Though they could just have good prices.

Bikes: Surly Long Haul Trucker set up for commuting and loaded touring, old Sekine road frame converted to fixed-gear, various beaters and weird bikes, waiting on the frame for my Surly Big Dummy build

****. I just ordered the same wheels from Gnashbar on Sunday! (on sale for $150)

Sweet deal though. I'll second the question of if they are built on the same fixed/fixed hubset the Nashbar wheels are.

Holy Crap! Even compared to building those yourself, that's like getting the spokes for free if you paid retail for the hubs and rims.

yeah, does anyone know if these are fix/fix, single fix, or fix/free?

also, i'm considering buying a set as a backup wheelset - how do these wheels stand up to the streets, and how durable is the threaded area? lots of problems with stripping?

We're getting into a grey area with the seller(no red star) describing them and setting a price...

no we are not getting into grey area, we are discussing a seller and his price, the seller is not one of the people posting so it's all cool...

My fault, I didn't realize muftek just copied and pasted what was on the linked page. I thought when he said "we" he was the seller. Just a little jittery from all the deleted threads lately. Carry on.

once you add in shipping it's pretty much the same cost as getting the same wheels at a LBS (at least in NYC). It's the exact same set I've used. Pretty durable. Had to do a little retensioning to the rear last night, and the factory locknuts backed off by themselves. Torque them up when you first get them.

BTW. I always wondered how much these things weighed. Good Lawd they are heavy. I'm just used to sub 1600 gram wheelsets I guess.

Where?

Show me a shop where I can get a set of formula/cpx22 track wheels for ~$150.
