a very good point, and weighs heavily on the choice i will make. shimano is a juggernaut, but i also just want the least bling/most performance combination possible. tough call.

Alot of people consider Gipiemme to be Campy "copies" a la Zeus hubs and cranksets. They are pretty nice but definitely not machined as finely as Campy.

Actually I have heard and read people describe Gipiemme as Campy copies several times and Zeus as well. I'm not making that idea up. Gipemme's design does seem to mimick Campy if you look at it. The low and high flange look like a copy of a Campy Record. Also like Campy Gipiemme is Italian, too, and usually has Italian threading, whereas DA is English threaded. I'm not trying to be a dick here. Just look up "Gipiemme Campy Copy" on google and the results will speak for themselves.

Oh okay, but I don't think it is right to compare them to DA that was my point.

how about jacobs and erich zann bareknuckle box...if jacobs wins, i'll buy gipiemme, if erich zann wins, i'll buy DA
personally, i think that erich zann's lvl 99 wizard may have a slight advantage over jacobs' teletubbie, but perhaps we'll see an upset.

Sorry if I seemed aggressive with any comments, I didn't see it so much as a fight and more like a dialogue.
Oh well.

i've ridden onetwentyeights front after a little hooptyha crash and it wasn't bad. i like phils more tho. but everyone has their opinion.

the phils are smooth, but definitely not as fast as the DAs.
both are high flange, 32h.
