Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Question for Seattle area riders

I'm finally getting to visit Seattle later this month when my wife has an interview. Can any one tell me a good place to find something to ride while I'm there? We're going to be staying in Bellevue and I really like to be able to explore on two wheels. Thanks,

Here is a link to bike rental places in Seattle:

I understand there are some nice rides on the east side and Mercer Island, although I haven't done it myself. If you want, you can actually bike one of the bridges across the lake to Seattle, I've been told.

Montlake Bikes has rentals.
They're in Kirkland (adjacent to Bellevue) and in Seattle (just across Lake Washington).

Gregg's Cycle has rentals too but their Bellevue store doesn't.

Montlake Bikes in Kirkland is the only place on the Eastside I know of that rents bikes.
Sammamish Valley Cycle in Redmond might.

Considering the type of city Bellevue is, it's surprisingly bike friendly.

You can ride across the I-90 bridge to Mercer Island and on to Seattle. The 520 bridge is cars only.
