Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

jwilson165... your lucky... I don't trust usps because my mailman sucks so much and even the guy that deliver the big packages suck too. I had him ring the bell once to drop off a package and I answered and by the time I got downstairs... 5 seconds... he was in the truck pulling away with the package sitting on the stoop. I picked it up and theres the sticker that says it has to be signed for... so much for usps in my area. Those guys are complete tools and I avoid going to the post office just as much as fedex kinkos.

Bikes: highly modified specialized crossroads and GT hybrid (really a [formerly] 12-speed bmx cruiser, made before 'hybrid' took on its current meaning), as yet unmodified redline 925, couple of other projects

Heh, I got hired there like two weeks before the strike, worked a little bit, went on strike, got laid off, and that was that.

Best part was that I got $100 in strike benefits from the teamsters, and a few months later got a check from them for all the union dues i'd paid because I worked there such a short time.

Also the picket line was just a big drunken party.

Knowing that my roommate would be their tuesday, I rescheduled the deliver for then (on the UPS website). Tuesday comes and goes...apparently the driver couldn't find my place this time. Not only that, but I had to call UPS to fix the problem with the address (it didn't have an apt #, and the driver thought it was being delivered to a store). Eventually they told me just to pick up the package myself.
I hate that ride. That is the worst UPS hold area ever.

Ironically enough, I got a USPS frame delivered to work no problem.

so after three calls and demanding to talk to a manager i've been told i have to have the company who i bought the tires from file a claim and replace the tires. i dont want em anymore though so i told them just to refund me. the delivery guy lied and said he put them by the basement but the basement of my building is around back and i have the fact that he put them by the garbage can in writing.

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

File a claim. Like I said, with FedEx, the driver pays for his mistake.

Who decided to ship with Fedex, you or the company you ordered from? If it was you, you should file the claim and give them hell. If it was the company just get your money and leave them to deal with it. Yeah, Fedex in Brooklyn really sucks. Why are you ordering Rubinos anyway, Trackstar and Bike Works both usually have them in stock. Anyway, sorry to hear about the mess.

Bikes: Various by application

If your shipper did not specify NSR (no signature required) Fedex owes them $$ and you another shipment no charge. If they did okay an NSR, they owe you another shipment no charge, cause that's not done unless you really really know your receiver or get specific instruction that it's okay to do that, and where it's to be left.

so after a month of emailing the company (bikesomewhere.com) to get them to file a claim and not receiving any response, i left them negative feedback on their amazon account. i said that they didn't respond to emails and i was out $70. they responded to my feedback on the site saying that the products were delivered (true, but not to me), signed for (untrue) and that i in fact hadn't responded to their attempts to contact me (totally untrue).

i emailed them again explaining all this again and saying again that i was highly displeased and got a response FINALLY saying "FedEx says the package was delivered so if you have a problem you need to contact them" which is what i did a month ago and they told me bikesomewhere had to file the claim, which is why i emailed them a month ago!

so yeah, avoid purchasing from bikesomewhere.com or through them on amazon

get your tires from probikekit.com

I got two sets of rubino pro folding tires at $17 per tire and that was when they had free shipping. It takes about 10 days but for that price I can wait a month.
